Cathryn Hein is a published Australian author.
Cathryn loves writing romance novels that include rural and adventure romance stories. She was born in south Australia and considers herself a country girl from that area. As such, she loves a rural hero who happens to be rugged and handy, which she admits is likely a factor in why she chooses to write them.
She writes romances that are emotional and warm, that have a realistic feel to life but always keep things light with antics. She wants her readers to feel emotions through her books and also feel great. She gets her inspiration from all types of places and is always surprised at what the source of her inspiration and imagination will be, whether it’s a piece of music, dream, conversation, article, television shows, movies, or even another book.
Hein says that she enjoys the romance genre because of the emotions that the stories evoke. She says that a romance that is written well can make the reader cry or be overcome with happiness. She says that when it comes to reading, romance is the only genre that affects her emotions in this way. Sometimes she’ll be moved by a novel in the horror or thriller genre, but mostly she enjoys the emotions that romance novels give her and likes that romance can give readers the happy ending that they are searching for.
Hein has also been writing from a young age. Ever since she was a teenager, she’s been composing poetry and short stories. She attempted to write a full length novel in her twenties but never could make it to a certain point. She also had a busy schedule with plenty of studying and working to be done, and hadn’t yet developed her writing drive.
She had more time to write when her partner spent some time overseas. Cathryn finally sat down and composed a full book. She expresses feeling satisfaction at finishing the first draft and once that happened, she was hooked with no turning back. She returned to her native Australia and kept up with the writing. She even joined the writing group Romance Writers of Australia and found a lot of experience and growth through the group, improving her writing with every manuscript.
After pitching a few manuscripts to Penguin in 2010, they were interested. The book would be Promises, published in 2011. Her advice for those who want to be writers is to actually write, since you improve the more you write. She says that writing well takes some practice, and finishing your book is important. Learning the craft and seeing what drives stories and other aspects of writing is important, as is finding other people that also write.
The best thing for Hein when it comes to being a writer is being able to work for herself and spend time daydreaming. The worst part is having to do revisions, which is a necessary evil to try and improve the book to make it the best possible work it can be.
The author resides with her partner in Newcastle, Australia. She writes frequently, but when she is not busy doing that, she likes to play golf, cook, and root for her football team, the Sydney Swans.

Rocking Horse Hill is the debut novel in the Levenham Love Story series by Cathryn Hein. This story takes place in the rural parts of South Australia.
In this debut, readers meet main character Emily Wallace-Jones. Her family’s world is rocked when Digby, Emily’s brother, comes home with a new fiancée in tow. No one is certain what to do or how to take it.
For one thing, the Wallace-Jones family are aristocracy in their rural area, with old money. Meanwhile, Felicity Townsend has clearly had a very different life experience and origins. Emily wants to do her best to try and accept Felicity, since it was snobbish behavior that ruined her first love relationship with Josh Sinclair.
The thing is, Josh has come back into Emily’s life and now they have a shot at second chances. Meanwhile, the family is worried about what Felicity has in mind for the historic property Rocking Horse Hill. The property is in the family, but Digby owns it. However, he’s told Emily it can be her home indefinitely, as long as she wants to stay there.
Emily is concerned about whether that will stay in place but aligns with Digby and his new love. But when an unexpected event starts things in motion, the family may never be the same. Will she get together with Josh? Is her home in jeopardy? What are Felicity’s intentions? Find out all of it by picking up a copy of this book!
Summer and the Groomsman is the second novel in the Levenham Love Story series.

The two are coupled together when a wedding party with Harry shows up to her work at the day spa. She’s put with Harry and they try to do their best, but it goes horribly. Harry knows he’s got to make things right since he’s now had two bad encounters with Summer.
