Publication Order of Short Stories/Novellas

Author Catherine Bybee has spent a lot of her working life in busty emergency rooms as a registered nurse all over Southern California. She says that this has given her a lot of hilarious material for her work, and that it is due to life being a lot better than fiction. She has two sons, whom she is raising in Southern California.

The first romance book that she ever read was the book that got her interested in the genre. She read nothing but romance while in high school. She made a goal that she would be a published author, just like the ones that she read.

She moved to Southern California after she graduated high school in an effort to become an actress. She got bored waiting tables, and went back to school to become registered nurse. Catherine suffered a work related injury and started writing full time.

Catherine has written a lot of books in a lot of series, some of which include: the “Weekday Brides” series the “Ritter Werewolves” series the “Not Quite” series the “Most Likely To” series the “MacCoinnich” series, some Erotic books, and some stand alone novels. Her first novel, “Kilt Worthy” was released in the year 2009.

Her work is from the romance genres of paranormal, historical, contemporary, and (for a short time) erotica.

“Wife by Wednesday” is the first novel in the “Weekday Brides” series and was released in the year 2011. Blake Harrison is charming, titled, and rich; not to mention the fact that he needs a wife by Wednesday. Blake goes to a man named Sam Elliot, who is not the businessman Blake thought he would be. Instead, he gets face to face with Samantha Elliot. She is gorgeous and feisty with a sexy voice.

Samantha Elliott owns Alliance (which is a matchmaking firm) and is not looking to get married, at least not until Blake offers a one year deal good for ten million bucks. This is not some indecent proposal, as the deal will really help with the medical bills her family has. All she has to do is keep the attraction she has towards Blake to herself and stay out of his bed.

The kisses that Blake gives and his ability to charm is just too difficult for Sam to stay away from. The contract he came up with planned for a lot of things, just about everything except one. Falling in love.

Fans of the novel were entertained and held captive by the well drawn and charming characters, the prose (which was playful and spine tingling), and a romance that was sweet. Blake and Samantha have strong chemistry between them, and it made for some great dialogue. The love scenes were pretty great too. You could tell these characters really felt for each other, and would do anything for them. Some enjoyed this one so much, they will check out the rest in the series, to see if it is just as good as this one was.

“Married by Monday” is the second novel in the “Weekday Brides” series and was released in the year 2012. Carter Billings has good enough looks for Hollywood and sandy blond hair; he could also get any woman that he wanted. He makes a bid for the Governor’s seat in California, and it is time for him to settle down and finally be a family man. The woman he desires, Eliza Havens, is the right balance of spice and passion for his marital tastes. There is one problem, though, Eliza is not interested in being his wife.

Eliza Havens finds it easier to push Carter away than give in to her desire for him. Her career is matching up couples, but herself getting married is not an option for her. She has secrets that are just too dangerous for her to get anyone else tangled up with her. Her past and new identity put her future in jeopardy, she does not have much choice in the matter. Carter is fast to offer solutions to both his and her problems. But if she says yes to him, it might mean putting the man she is starting to love in danger.

With these first two novels, Catherine is off to a great start with things. Fans of the novel felt this did not disappoint with its mixing of mystery, intrigue, and romance. You feel yourself holding your breath, waiting (along with each of the characters) for what is coming next, be it sex or murder or a conflict of some kind. Readers like how interesting Eliza’s back story was and enjoy getting to know her more, after just learning some basic stuff about her in the first book.

“Fiance by Friday” is the third novel in the “Weekday Brides” series and was released in the year 2013. Gwen Harrison is a gorgeous and high born English duke’s daughter journeyed to America so that she could take over the matchmaking business of her sister-in-law. Being boss does not mean that she cannot pretend that she would make a great match with Neil MacBain (a bodyguard). Is the enigmatic man from her wonderful dreams cost her more than she would have liked?

Neil MacBain is a retired Marine is unable to deny that Gwen the blue blood has had an effect on his body or damaged soul. As a client, he is not able to have Gwen. Something dangerous from Neil’s past comes back and it gets Gwen caught in the crossfire. He will have to risk everything to protect her. His career, his heart, and his life. All of it.

Some feel that this is Catherine’s best work, and that is saying a lot, because what a great author she is. It will take you on a great ride, and make you feel every single emotion that is known to man. Fans of the novel felt that the characters are both realistic. Gwen is smart, but still coming into her own after being sheltered for time. Neil, on the other hand, is starting to engage with the world again and deal with his post traumatic stress. There is a fast paced plot, to keep things moving; there is also an endearing and believable romance thrown in the mix. Catherine continues the hot streak that she started with books one and two, with this book here.

I would like to point out to you Catherine, that you’re a wonderful writer I really loved the McConney series. However you did not finish it. I will not start any more of your books because I’ll be afraid to get left high and dry again. Sorry to say it but it is how I feel

Please finish the highlander series. You have left it up in the air what is Amber and her husband going to do now they need to fight the evil. And Cian is obviously messed up he needs to be married. And Selma and Jake you left that up in the air. This is all been very confusing as I love this series and I thought you would finish it number five and then when you didn’t all I have is a lot of questions about what happens afterwards

I’ve been reading the MacCoinnich books and was gutted to find that Book 5 is the latest. I’m distraught for Cian, who seems to be ensnared by a nasty piece of work, and we can’t just leave him like that. Please please please sort him out, so he can make peace with Amber and the rest of his family, and also let us know how Amber & Gavin’s powers evolve.

Learning the series is unfinished is disappointing. I’m on
chapter 10 of Highland Protector & thought
this was the final book in the series. Hoping
for another book that will provide closure
for the fans of this series.

I am so hooked on your books. The first in the First Wives series made me wish the series would never end – same for the Not Quite series. I’m 78, widowed, and had decided I was through with trying to read romance books that were mostly full of sordid sex. What a thrill to read about characters that make you feel you are present in their life and holding your breath for their safety. The women are portrayed as strong women, which I admire and feel that I am one – able to think on their own and make worthwhile contributions to their union with strong, successful men. Hope there are many more great series to come.

Oh Ms. Bybee. Thank you. I throughly enjoy reading your books. The characters always have substance. The sex scenes are swoon worthy and most important, not a lot of harsh language. It’s really funny, the older one gets (I’m 80), the things that are important now, not so much as when you’re younger.
Your books are a way of going back in time. Thank you for such wonderful memories.
