About Camille Peters

An American fantasy author, Camille Peters is well known for her imaginative and intelligent stories that really pull the reader in. Featuring intricately woven narratives, she brings a lot to the table in terms of storytelling, along with inspired and creative ideas. This approach to the fantasy genre has seen her reaching reader from all over the world, making a name for herself far and wide. Saying something quite different with her work, she definitely pushes the genre in new and interesting directions.

Setting many of her books in far-off fantasy lands, her books really transport the reader, making for stories that are both compelling and entertaining. Whilst they’re set in fantasy worlds, they do feature universal themes and ideas that make them far easier to relate to. Knowing precisely what it is that she wants to say, Peters delivers so much in her stories, dealing with big ideas and concepts. All this whilst ensuring her books are entertaining on an escapist level as well, allowing the reader to lose themselves in the narrative.

The characters are intelligently written, with realistic motivations and emotions, which is something that ultimately grounds them. Making for several iconic protagonists that really stay with her readers long after they’ve put the book down, she understands what drives people. This formula, along with her intricate stories, has made her hugely successful over the years, becoming a household name for many. With lots more to come in the future, she is a writer who has a bright and exciting future, as she definitely won’t be finishing any time soon.

Early and Personal Life

Born and raised in Utah, Camille Peters would grow up in Salt Lake City, developing a love and passion for literature. Continually writing stories whenever she had the chance, she would look to becoming an author herself in the future. Over time she would make a name for herself, with her own unique voice, focusing on the fantasy genre writing romance stories.

Throughout her teens she would take creative writing classes, before going on to attend the English University of Northampton where she would also study writing. Graduating from the University of Utah, she would gain a degree in English and History, as she would go on to become a full-time author. Still writing to this very day, she continues to put out books on regular basis, as her writing career grows from strength-to-strength.

Writing Career

In 2019 Camille Peters would bring out her first novel, with ‘Pathways’ also being the first in her ‘Kingdom Chronicles’ series. Setting up a fantasy series of romance novels, the books would all be set in the same world, with some arcs and elements ongoing. It would really create a style and tone that was very much its own, giving readers something that was quite different.

Later she would set-up to her ‘Dream World Chronicles’ series as well, starting with the novel ‘Dreamer’ in 2021. These books would also be fantasy titles, with them being set in their own world too, with the series being another ongoing franchise. Peters would also contribute to ‘Villains Ever After’ series with the book ‘The Beast and the Enchantress’ in 2021, writing alongside other fellow fantasy authors.

Reflection

Originally brought out through the Rosewood Publishing label, this was first released in 2019 on the 11th of November. Marking the fourth book in ‘The Kingdom Chronicles’ series of books, it carries on from the previous three books with a self-contained fantasy romance story. The previous book would be published in 2019 and was titled ‘Identity,’ whilst the fifth book, ‘Enchantment,’ would be published in 2020.

Suddenly ending their betrothal, Princess Rheanna has her self-esteem completely broken when she’s taken by surprise by her former fiancée. Looking to avoid further heartache she reluctantly faces a political engagement, and she’s then drawn to a mysterious turret within the palace. It’s here that she discovers a snarky man trapped within it, and she then hopes to break Drake’s curse, as she aims to free him, all whilst a bond grows between them. Will she be able to finally free him, can the two of them face the future together, and what will become of her as she finally faces her reflection?

This entry into the series is definitely an interesting inclusion into the Kingdom Chronicles series, making for some excellent world-building. The books can be read as stand-alone titles, but it provides those returning with lots to enjoy, so it’s probably best to read them in order so as to get the most from it. With compelling characters there really is a lot to enjoy here, making for personalities that are easy to relate to, despite its fantasy setting.

Nightmare

Setting up the second book in her series ‘The Dream World Chronicles,’ this first came out in 2021 on the 2nd of October. It’s a fantasy romance, something which Peters definitely excels at at this point, with her having well developed her style and tone. Initially brought out through the ‘Rosewood Publications’ imprint, this would also pave the way for the third book, ‘Insomnia,’ coming out in 2022.

Banished for a crime she didn’t commit, Eden finds herself torn from the Dream World and the life she once knew. Fearing the man she longs to trust was in fact the one who betrayed her, she finds herself immersed in darkness, surrounded by suspicions. Exploring her own powers, she hopes to find her own identity, and regain her strength, learning to trust once again. Will she ever be able to return to the life she once knew, just who betrayed her, and can she find her way home from the nightmare?

It’s a fun and engaging story, as the reader is really drawn into the plight of its central protagonist, rooting for them throughout. The story drives forwards, really bringing the overall world of the series to life, making it more immersive than ever. Keeping the reader constantly turning the page, it’s a compelling story that definitely makes the most of its intriguing premise.
