Camille Baker is a Literary fiction author best known for her 2021 published novel “Have We Met?” That she published with Lake Union Publishing.
In her teenage years, she went to The Ohio State University from where she graduated with a bachelor’s degree in finance. She also minored in sign language classes for fun and it was during this time that she started writing stories whenever she attended boring business classes.

After she graduated from college, she went to San Antonio College to complete the Interpreter Training Program. Camille now makes her home in South Chicago from where she works as an interpreter and writes in her free time.

The seed for “Have We Met,” which is Camille Baker’s debut, was planted several years back following a conversation with a friend. The friend asked her if she thought any of her past romantic interests could have been “The One.”

Several years later, now having used dating apps with little success, she decided to try that idea to enhance the effectiveness of a dating app.
She decided to create a character whose dating experience would get a little bit messy while looking for her soul mate. It is from this idea that she built the manuscript for her novel.

Camilla Baker had written several other novels before but she would always draft her full manuscripts rather than create outlines until she wrote her debut. Starting out, she knew who the lead would end up with given the idea of The One.

However, she did get the help of a friend that was a plot guru who had just the right magic to connect her then two very varied plot lines. She also changed several scenes and the plot too and edited and revised the manuscript with an agent, a process that she has asserted she never liked.
Thankfully she agreed to make the changes her editors required of her and she finally published her debut in 2021.

Still, she loved to describe the publishing process as akin to struggling up a giant sand dune all the while wrestling with her wooden sled and finally reaching the crest. From then on, it was sliding down the slope all giddy in a rush of excitement.

“Have We Met?” By Carly Baker is the story of a girl named Corrine who is in dire straits following the death of her best friend to cancer. She left everything behind and moved to Chicago, her native town, from where she planned her next move.

Given her circumstances she does not have the time to look for love until she finds a strange dating app on her phone. Upon opening the app, she gets notifications asking her to reconnect with several missed connections one of whom the app says is her soul mate.

Corrine is skeptical about the app but then it starts sending a series of blasts from the past and she starts thinking maybe she could be wrong.
But she has recently met a really great guy introduced to her by a friend as they get closer, Corrine wonders if her soulmate is still out there and if she should match with one of the matches the app is recommending.
