It was released by the Createspace publishing house in the year 2012. The plot of this alternate history novel revolves around the main character named Sire Armand de la Couture. In the opening sequence of the plot of the novel, it is shown that the War of the World had devastated the human world around hundreds of years. Now, only one nation is believed to be still standing in North America which is known by the name, the Empire of Nunavit or the Empire of the North. This nation is located where once there was the nation of Canada in North America. One of the residents of this empire named Sire Couture travels with his father to the south at a very young age. He uses the airship for completing his trading mission by traveling to the city-state known by the name Potomick. This city was once believed to be the capital of the greatest empire of the world called ‘Amerka’.
When Sire Armand Couture reaches Potomick, he finds the ruins of the museums and buildings spread all over and comes across a sacred site, where he finds the temple of a brooding and bearded man, looking towards a rectangular pond and sitting upon a throne. This man was called Father Abram and it was believed about him that he used to free slaves around many centuries ago. For his great deeds, he is worshipped by the people now, who provide offerings at his feet. But, the people of Potomick still seem to be oppressed and pray for the rise of a new Father Abram, so that they can also be freed from their slavery. After witnessing all this, Sire Armand returns safely to his Empire. However, he begins to look at his Empire with a different viewpoint. He learns that there are many indentured servants in his Empire, who work for the royal families in order to pay off their decades old debts. Seeing this, Sire Armand begins to question the old customs of his society. Soon, the security forces of the Empire come to know about his opposing views and force him to make a devastating decision between betraying his noble family and fighting for the ones who do not have their own voices and are treated as slaves, struggling for their survival in the Empire. With the help of this novel, author Dubois has tried to describe a new world, among the old world’s ashes, where a struggle between slavery and freedom takes place in the lands that were once called as America and Canada.

Even his noble family abandons him and gets him deported to the western region of the Authority of the Imperial Oil Sands. There, he is made to work along with the condemned prisoners as a slave for extracting oil, from which the EMpire was getting benefitted. Previously, he had lived his life as a pampered prince, but now, he is made to experience what is hunger, fear, and cold. Sire Armand is forced to struggle against the assassins as well as the elements. He is made to fight for his survival among the hardworking slaves of the oil field, who still think that he is a part of the rich and noble family of the Empire.
