About Autumn Jones Lake

An American author and writer of bestselling romance literature, the novelist Autumn Jones Lake is highly regarded for her fresh and inventive take on the format. With a vibrant and witty personality, she is able to craft a turn of phrase with both ease and confidence, really allowing the reader to invest themselves in her work. It is also her characters that speak to her audience, as they at once seem somewhat fantastical, providing a sense of escape for the reader, whilst also being simultaneously down to earth at the same time. This has allowed her to become extremely successful over the years, writing for scores of readers worldwide, entertaining them with her fun and innovative approach to the genre. Not only that, but her many series that she’s produced over the years have also been gaining scores of readers worldwide as well, which is increasing at an ever rapid rate.

Taking a more gritty approach to the contemporary romance genre, she largely takes a look at the subgenre of the ‘motorcycle romance’ genre. These novels, mainly known as ‘MC’ romance titles, look at the tough world of motorcycle gangs, focusing on the hard-boiled lifestyles of many of the people involved in it. This means that there’s plenty of stories involving strong leading males, along with the relationships that they have; a formula which continues to be hugely successful.

Early and Personal Life

Born and raised in the vicinity of Upstate New York, Autumn Jones Lake grew up with a keen fascination for the written word. This would see her embark on consuming all manner of literature, immersing herself heavily in the world and all that it entails. Both reading and writing voraciously, she would nurture her craft with a considerable amount of passion over the years, taking in inspiration constantly from the world around her.

Turning her love of literature towards a love of romance stories, she would soon find herself embarking on a career focused on this particular genre. Over time she would also have a career in law as well, along with baking and all manner of other pursuits, all of which would provide her with plenty of experience to draw from. Still writing to this very day, she continues to put out work regularly from her home in Upstate New York, where she lives with her husband and their dogs.

Writing Career

Starting out back in 2014, Lake would begin her writing career with the novel titled ‘Slow Burn’, as this would see her quickly make a name fore herself. It would also be the first in the long-running series of novels called the ‘Lost Kings MC’ franchise, which would span for over twelve novels and counting. Whilst this would be one of her most successful series to date, she would also write other series, such as the ‘Catnips and Cauldrons’ franchise, along with a collection of stand-alone titles. During the course of her career she would also contribute to other series as well, along with making additions to omnibuses as well. A member of her local chapter of the ‘Romance Writers of America’, she is an active part of the community, something she will continue for many years to come.

More Than Miles

Initially published on the Kindle, this would first come out in 2016 on the 16th of August to much acclaim. Following on from the previous five titles, this would be the sixth entry into the long-running ‘Lost Kings MC’ series of novels. Working as a stand-alone as well, it would be open to both fans of the franchise and newcomers alike, providing a passion filled motorcycle gang themed romance in the process.

With a passionate love triangle at the heart of this story, this is another high tension drama that goes all the way when creating an air of suspense. The characters are all well drawn, many of them returning from previous novels, despite the story focusing on a central group of characters for this novel. The setting is also well established too, with it evoking a feeling of freedom, which is in part due to the subject matter of a motorcycle gang. Not only that, but it builds upon the world of the previous novels too, providing something for returning readers to the franchise, as well as newcomers.

It seems the Road Captain for the Lost Kings has the world completely at his feet, as Blake ‘Murphy’ O’Callaghan seems to have it all. The only problem is though, is that he wants what he knows he can’t have, as he has his eye set on Heidi, the little sister of his best friend. Heidi Whelan did love him too, but he always cast her aside, now to declare his love for her as she hits eighteen, but she loves Axel Ryan, her boyfriend from high-school. Now the time has come to make up her mind, as she must deal with the affections of two men, caught in both of their cross-hairs. Who will she ultimately choose? Can she make such a huge decision? Will the distance travelled be more than miles?

Warnings and Wildfires

First published in 2018 on the 24th of July, this would originally come out through the ‘Ahead of the Pack, LLC’ publishing label. Whilst it primarily works as a stand-alone novel with it not technically being a part of any series, it is tangentially connected to the ‘Lost Kings MC’ romance franchise. This is only a few small elements and it isn’t essential for newcomers to read the other series, with it working entirely on its own merits.

Sullivan Wallace, or Sully as he is more commonly known, is the handsome twenty-eight year old owner of a gym, called the ‘Strike Back Gym’. The older brother of Jake, who is sometimes found in the ‘Lost Kings MC’ series, he doesn’t have much time on his hands between working at the gym and looking after his daughter. Then there’s Aubrey Dorado, a young twenty-two year old woman who lives with her older sister Celia after her parents threw her out for an apparent ‘mistake’. Taking self-defence classes at the gym, Sully soon finds himself questioning whether or not he should break his rule of not fraternizing with clients. Will he break it and can they both become an item? How will they overcome the difficulties of their pasts? Who will offer the warnings and wildfires?
