Anne Maybury is a bestselling author of romantic suspense fiction novels whose novels have earned her critical acclaim across the globe and made her a very popular novelist.

It is in the United States where she was very popular as she penned novels under different pseudonyms such as Katherine Troy, and Edith Arundel.

Her maiden name was Edith Arundel Buxton and she has often said that her predecessors arrived in England during the Norman Conquest. As such, she is very proud of her ancestors and it is perhaps for this reason that she is very appreciative of English history.
Anne has often said that it was from her father who was one of the best-known poets of his time that she got her love for poetry. She also inherited the creative gift from her mother who was a musician, even though she died when Edith was still very young.
She published “The Stars Grow Pale” her debut novel in 1937 and would then become a very prolific novelist with at least forty works of fiction to her name. She made use of her talents for lyrical prose to bring drama and color into her works which had many of her readers enthralled.

Anne Maybury’s very early novels were published under the pseudonyms Katherine Troy and Edith Arundel but it was under the name Anne Maybury that she would become very popular.

A very hardworking professional, she was known for keeping time and adhering to deadlines and always sent regrets whenever she could not make her social engagements.

It was from a very early age that Anne got interested in human intrigue and behavior and this would become very valuable in her later writing endeavors. She would also remain a very curious person which is a critical element for someone who would become a novelist.
From her many travels, she got a sense of adventure which she then imbues into her novels. She somehow always attracted excitement and on several occasions during her travels across the world, she met a murderer.

As an author, Anne is stylish and this perhaps comes from her personality which has often been described as full of charm and sprinkled with a sparkling sense of fun.

Outside of her writing, Anne Maybury works with aspiring writers and has given a lot of time for that purpose. She also liked to interact with her fellow authors with who she was often engaged in literary chats.

She loved the classics and new writing as well in addition to keeping up with new developments. She was also heavily involved in the writing community leadership roles and in this regard, was the vice president of both the Society of Women Journalists and Writers and the Romantic Novelists Association.

Maybury actively attended organizational meetings and gave herself to helping and caring for members and the many causes the writers believed in. She was also a good companion and friend in addition to being a remarkable writer.

Anne Maybury’s novel “The Midnight Dancers” tells the story of Cathy and Mark. Mark is a roving reporter who is very valued by his company and is also married to Cathy.

Given his job demands, he needs a lot of freedom in his relationships and Cathy lets him have it as she keeps busy raising Pippa her stepdaughter, and working as a stained glass artist.

While Mark is working on a story in Northern Africa about a new tourist hub, Cathy just won a commission to design a window in the same locale. She takes Pippa and they head out to join Mark in Northern Africa, where they will be hosted by Alexandra his old friend.
Mark’s brother Justin and his wife Harriet also live nearby since Justin works as a travel guide. Things had been fine until she is gifted with a box that once belonged to Mark’s first wife. But some very bizarre happenings lead Cathy to start thinking that she might be in a lot of danger.

Part intriguing mystery and part travelogue with a hint of family drama, it makes you wonder if it is possible to ever truly know someone.

“Jessamy Court” by Anne Maybury is an interesting work of fiction that takes a rather implausible plot but still manages to make it into a very good story.

For Stephanie Clair, the only person who has been her only true and loyal friend is Rachel Fleming. As a bitter and self-pitying daughter of a famous ballerina, there is nothing she needs more than a true friend.
When Stephanie has a nervous breakdown when she loses her mother, Rachel impersonates her on the advice of her doctor to try to see if she can find the reason for her friend’s collapse.

Her quest brings her to Jessamy Court where Stephanie’s mother used to live and into the orbit of two men she used to captivate while she lived. Normally confident, assertive, and outgoing, Rachel pretends to be the unhappy, awkward, and anxious Stephanie.
Meanwhile, she is anxious about someone discovering that she is masquerading as someone she is not. But something even more concerning is that there are indications of witchcraft in the woods around the small village.
It is a great work of fiction that makes for a thrilling read.

Anne Maybury’s novel “The Terracotta Palace” is a work that tells the story of Juliet Holdroyd. At the opening of the novel, she is going on her first trip to Rome after an absence of more than fourteen years.

She is now a 22-year-old woman who is searching for the secrets of the wealthy Malimbrosa family and for a missing childhood friend. She has always held dear the many memories of the beautiful summer she spent in Italy with her new friend Malimbrosa Roman.
Now that she is back, she wants to visit her friend but is told that she has gone missing and the family does not seem to care. Juliet immediately begins to look for her friend but soon realizes that things could not have been more complicated.

Similar to Mary Stewart to whom she has often been compared, Maybury writes a brilliant work that is so vivid that you could imagine Rome and Italy with their hill country and bustling streets.
