There are those of us who read, not for information or education, but to experience a different world. We find a connection with our favorite story tellers and those stories become like old friends, that we visit with over and over again. And some of us, not only enjoy other people’s tales, but have tales of our own bouncing in our heads. Anna J. Stewart is someone who is able to take those adventures and write them for our delight. She has become a favorite among romance authors and anyone who likes a good read.
Anna is a true California girl who was raised in San Francisco, graduating from California State University in Sacramento with a major in English. She was the girl in school whose head was filled with fairy tales and who always seemed to be bringing them to life. Anna could be anyone from Wonder Woman to a Charlie’s Angel with a belief that girls not only could do anything boys could do, but many times, do better. Like many of us, she was (and is) an avid reader. She could always be found with a book in her hand and enjoyed authors like Stephen King and Dean Koontz. However, once Anna discovered the extraordinary work of Nora Roberts and others, her destiny was obvious. Becoming a romance writer was what she knew was in her future. She didn’t start out writing but went through a variety of jobs in her younger years. Anna tried everything from a sales position in a bookstore to being a cookie decorator to utilizing her side hobby with a job in a miniature doll house shop. This range of employment has certainly helped her write books full of humor, passion and heartlifting romance.
As a nationally best selling author of contemporary romance, she writes for Berkley (The Tremayne Family Trilogy), for Harlequin Heartwarming (The Butterfly Harbor Series) and has written the self-published Lantano Valley Series romances. She is also the author of several novellas in shared books with other romance novelists. In the start of the Tremayne Family Trilogy, “Asking for Trouble”, the main characters meet with a sizzle that burns up the pages throughout the book. Morgan Tremayne is a member of one of the most prominent and prosperous families in Lantano Valley and is considered as beautiful inside as she is on the outside. However, she is forced to turn to methods that society considers inappropriate and the law considers illegal to keep her children’s charity going. These methods entail accepting donations from a criminal element in the form of a modern day Robin Hood-type cat burglar who targets the wealthy. Enter the man who makes Morgan’s skin tingle ( in the good way), Gage Juliano. Once a police detective, he is now the investigator for the D.A. with two objectives: saving his career and nabbing the nefarious thief. Then he meets gorgeous Morgan. Her attraction to Gage is complicated by her connection to the man helping her with her charity, the man Gage is actively pursuing. Gage’s instant desire for her is keeping him off balance and out of his head with passion. Does he focus on his goals or follow his heart to a life filled with love and happiness? Can she trust in Gage to be her lover and friend? Anna continues this series with consecutive books that loosely connects the dynamic Tremayne family to the characters in her Latano Valley Series. This series is focused on the lives and loves of five entertaining book club pals. In “Reading Between the Lines”, the first of this series, Ethan Sutherland was the high school hunk with a secret he couldn’t share. A secret that would keep him from making it to the majors. Having grown up poor, with his mother working three jobs, his brother choosing the military over college because of money, Ethan feels the pressure to make something of himself; to have a career in which he could support his mother. Cassedy Wells was the high school outcast who was assigned to tutor him, a seventeen year-old awkward girl who kept her emotions deep inside. Being close to Ethan, she reliquished her grip and fell in love for the first time. All her pent-up affections came loose and she allowed herself to trust. Then, Ethan stole her scholarship, shattered her dreams, broke her faith and crushed her heart. Now he’s back to take care of his ailing mother, start a new job and hoping that Cassedy can forgive him as he has not been able to forget her. Can she trust him with her heart again? Will she look past his deception and exploitation? Does he deserve it? Ethan’s salvation lays with her and he is desperate to win her love again. With these wonderfully written books, Anna fires our imaginations. Through her stories we believe that Morgan and Gage will find a way to make their romance and passion to continue to burn throughout the years. And that Ethan and Cass will come together at last, forgiving past mistakes, making a new passionate future with each other. The fantasies continue in each series bringing many hours of happy reading.
Anna is not only recognized for her fabulous tales by her loyal fans, but has received several awards. She is a former RWA Golden Heart finalist and a USA Today best-selling author. She has, for the last seven years, been privileged to be working as a personal assistant to NY Times best-selling author Brenda Novak. Anna has also aided Brenda Novak run her online auction for diabetes research which, in the last ten years, has raised over $2.3 million dollars. Now residing in Northern California, she shares her life with the endlessly fascinating characters dancing through her imagination and her tolerant and affectionate cat, Snickers. She also delights in a serious affection for not only Star Trek and Sherlock but Supernatural as well. Proving that even romance writers can’t get enough hunky eye candy to watch. Romance readers genuinely love and enjoy the fascinating characters and stories that Anna J. Stewart is able to bring to life. We all hope she continues to create new tales of passion, romance and love.
