Amanda Cabot is an inspiring novelist from Davenport, IA. U.S.A. She is particularly known for writing down three prominent series of novels in her successful career as an author. The novels written by Amanda are based on the Romance, Contemporary and Historical Fiction Genres. In all, she has written a total of 8 novels divided into the three series’ from 2009 to 2015. Amanda was born to the parents who were themselves avid readers. Hence, it was no surprise that she too learnt the habit of reading at a very lower age. She became so fond of reading and writing that she would constantly keep herself engrossed in the books for hours throughout her growing years. After that, it was only a small to be taken by her to become a novelist.
However, her idea of deciding to become a writer proved to be a rough path to travel on as she faced many hurdles in the initial phase of her career. Soon, she realized that deciding to become an author and actually becoming none were two different aspects. Eventually, the initial novels by her did not get published due to some problems. Amanda explains that she was lucky that her initial novels did not get published as they were not up to the mark. It was also beneficial for the readers of the world for not having to suffer from a disaster from Amanda or else they would have started to dislike her. Her writing career would have ended disastrously and the world might not have been able to experience the noteworthy works of a hard working and exciting author.
After a few starting failures Amanda did manage to achieve the goal of selling one of her works by the age of 30. Since, she did not stop at anything to achieve name and fame for herself in the field of novel writing. In her lengthy career as an author, Amanda has published more than 30 novels. She has frequently used different pseudonyms to write and publish many of her novels. When not busy in writing, Amanda likes to spend her time in doing fruitful and fun-filled activities. Amanda likes to enjoy sewing, cooking and reading the books written by other authors in her free time. The initial couple of novel series’ written by Amanda Cabot consists of three novels each, whereas the third series written by her features two very interesting novels. After the success of her first novel series, Amanda was motivated to more romance and contemporary novels. So, she began writing her second novel series, the Westward Winds.
The series consists of three different novels published from 2012 to 2014. Amanda says that even though she had written the series as a trilogy, the readers can read them in any order. She has just followed the formality of numbering the novels in the chronological order according to their year of publication. The series features the romantic love stories between the different sets of central characters in each novel. The main characters in the series are described in an interesting manner that forces the readers to get intrigued to the novels till the very end. Even the plot settings are very well done by Amanda. She has taken care of even the smallest of the things in order to make her novels sell all over the world with great appreciations from one and all.
The first novel of the Westward Winds series was published in the year 2012 under the title ‘Waiting for Spring’. The novel was published by the Revell publishing house. The plot of the novel was set in the Wyoming Territory of the United States at the time of the year 1886. The novel depicts the life story of the main characters Charlotte and Barrett Landry. The opening plot of the novel introduces Charlotte as a lady who has suffered a lot in the past year. She becomes the mother of a small baby, but has lost her husband. She keeps fleeing from place to place in order to save herself and her child from the notorious robbers of the territory. When one of the robbers tries to catch hold of her hoping that she knows the location of a wealthy, long-lost treasure, Charlotte moves to Cheyenne. Hoping that the robbers would not follow her there, she settles in the new territory and opens a dressmaker’s boutique in order to earn some living for herself and her child.
From here, the character of Barrett Landry is introduced as a wealthy cattle baron and a would-be political leader. He meets Charlotte for the first time in her shop. When Barrett enters her shop for the first time, Charlotte gets attracted towards him. However, hoping of becoming the senator of the newly appointed state of Wyoming, Barrett is required to find a sensible match for himself, a match better that Charlotte. It is seen that another character named Miriam is the right candidate to become Barrett’s better half as she possesses all the qualities of being a senator’s wife. However, Barrett seems to be interested in making Charlotte his wife as she holds the key to the heart and future of Barrett. Soon, the troubling past of Charlotte begins to play its role and all the plans made by Barrett for having a peaceful married life with Charlotte crumble disastrously. The novel progresses around the important question whether the two will gain courage to fight the difficult situations and come together or will they let their past get over the happiness of their lives.
The second novel of the series was titled ‘Summer of Promise’. It was published in the year 2012 by the Revell publishing house. Just like the first novel of the series, this novel too is set in the Wyoming Territory of the Unite States during the time of 1886. The plot of the novel is based on the romantic life of the main characters Abigail Harding and Ethan Bowles. The plot of the novel starts with the introduction of Abigail Harding, who has plans of spending her summer in Vermont but remains about her elder sister Charlotte. Although she claims that everything is fine in her letters sent to Abigail, her younger sister comes to know that she is lying and that something wrong is happening in her life. So, Abigail sets out for Fort Laramie in the Wyoming territory to meet her elder sister.
During her journey, Abigail’s stagecoach gets attacked by unknown people due to which she begins to consider Wyoming as a boring place. She is saved another passenger named Ethan Bowles, who is a Lieutenant by profession. Abigail wishes to get married after getting back to Vermont as soon as she attends her sister, Charlotte. However, she is forced to stay in the rugged land of Wyoming after getting persuaded by Ethan. She gets attracted towards him and begins to think of him as her future husband. Soon, she realizes that she has begun to love Wyoming and has forgotten about getting back to Vermont.

I so enjoy all of Amanda Cabot’s books. Will Amanda have a new series in 2021 or 2022? I love how all of her character’s come alive and you feel like you are in that era that Amanda writes about in her books. Hat’s off to her – love all her books.
