For the Emperor is the first novel in the Ciaphas Cain: Warhammer 40,000 series of fictional novels. If you have been looking for something new and fun to read in the arena of science fiction, give this book a try and see what you are missing!
The main character in this story is Commisar Ciaphas Cain. He’s a man that is known all across the sector for his personality traits of being brave and for just having valor in general as the Imperium’s current hero. Everyone knows about his reputation and it precedes him, so it makes sense that Cain is the one selected to go out to an outpost world so that order can be restored.
The world is on the Tau space borders, and they think that the Commisar could help maintain things before they get too out of hand. Then an alien ambassador ends up getting killed, and everything starts to quickly get out of hand. Cain looks around and finds that he and his Valhallan regiment are right smack dab in the center of a war that is unfolding all around them.
The Imperial Guard is on the ground, but they’ve got their work cut out for them when it comes to managing a civil insurrection on a global level. It’s up to the Commisar to try and look around and see what is going on. Could he be the sole person that could find the villain and keep the world from being lost from Imperium control for good?
Pick up a copy of For the Emperor to catch all of the science fiction action for yourself and read to the end to find out what happens.
Caves of Ice is the second novel in the Ciaphas Cain: Warhammer 40,000 series. If you liked the first book, get the second installment of this series and find out what happens next.
Main character Commisar Ciaphas Cain is back once more. He’s on another mission and this time he is being sent to Simia Orichalcae along with his Valhallan Guardsmen regiment. The ice world is far away and he thinks that this should be a regular tour of duty just like the others without any cause for concern. However, whatever peace that is there once he arrives is not destined to last.
Now Cain not only has to worry about the mission, he has to worry about looking after his regiment and make sure that morale is up. No one is happy to be stuck on an ice world, and surviving the elements is a task all its own. He doesn’t want his regiment to be unhappy and he certainly doesn’t want them to freeze in the cold.
But when orks begin attacking the squad and an old threat comes to greet them, Cain has some choices to make. With two different foes facing them, he needs to figure out how to do more than just play the part of being the hero. If they all want to make it out of this alive, Cain’s going to actually need to be a hero. The only question remaining is whether his heroic actions are going to actually work.
Simia Orichalcae is a world where the ice makes it difficult to live, but the disappearances of people on this world is even more concerning. Can Cain pull through this one despite all the odds being against him and find a way to somehow come out on top? Or is he going to find that between the weather, the orks, old evils and being attacked at all angles, that this one might be impossible to make it out of?
Commissar Ciaphas Cain is used to taking on tough tasks, but this one is about to take the cake. Can he figure out how to beat all of the enemies that are knocking on the door, or will he have to accept that this is the end at last? Will he and his regiment make it through and live to fight another day?
Pick up a copy of Caves of Ice to find out what happens in the end!
