The 13 books of the DCI Lorimer series written by author Alex Gray were released between the years 2002 and 2015. All the books feature DCI Lorimer and Soloman Brightman, a criminal profiler and psychologist, as the main characters. An initial book in the series is titled s ‘A Small Weeping’. It was released by the Allison and Busby publishers in the year 2004. At the beginning of the book, it is shown that the dead body of a prostitute is discovered from the Queen Street Station in Glasgow in a very strange condition. The hands of the prostitute were facing towards her feet as if she was praying at the time of her death, and there was a small flower kept between her palms. DCI Lorimer begins his work on the investigation of the murder hunt, but does not find any success. Then, psychologist Solomon Brightman is asked to join the murder case and assist Lorimer with the aim that his intelligent thinking will help to put some light on the murder case through a different angle. Before being able to draw any conclusions from their findings, Lorimer and Brightman come to know that the dead body of a nurse has been found in a private clinic called as The Grange. Their study of the second dead body makes them realize that there is another connection between the two murders other than their careful arrangement by the killer. Therefore, Lorimer and Brightman seem to be in the dark. Later, they find a third dead body and soon realize that they are up against a deadly serial killer and have to do something very soon to stop him from taking the life of another victim.

One of the other books initially written in the DCI Lorimer series was published under the title ‘Shadows of Sounds’. This book was released by the Allison & Busby publishers in the year 2005. At the opening scene of this book, it is shown that the Glasgow Orchestra is doing rehearsals of their performance on stage without being aware of the things happening backstage. The leader of the Orchestra named George Miller gets murdered brutally in his room and his colleagues become extremely shocked to learn about it. But, they are told to keep rehearsing while Brightman and Lorimer are called in to carry out the investigation of George Miller’s murder. They come to know about the series of tangled relationships between the members of the orchestra during the course of the investigation. They also learn that Millar was involved in a number of homosexual relationships with the orchestra members. He was well known for letting his lovers play off against each other and having fun while watching them do so. However, it was extremely important for Lorimer and Solomon for finding out what prompted the killer to carry out George Miller’s cold blooded murder.

Read most of you books, just got a couple of early ones to get to complete your titles.
Just found out your mother came from Mull. I’m from Yorkshire but Mull is one of my favourite places to visit. Hence i really enjoyed The Stalker as it described many aspects of Tobermory bringing back lots of happy memories.
    Keep up the good work.
