Alex Bledsoe is one of the popular authors from The United States who has written several successful novels based on the urban fantasy, sword & sorcery, horror, science fiction, fantasy, mystery, and thriller genres. Till date, all the books written by author Alex are characterized in a typical way by hard boiled protagonists and classically strong noir themes. Apart from being an author, Alex has also worked for a number of professions such as editing, reporting, photography, sale of vacuum cleaners, etc. He was born in the western Tennessee, The United States and currently lives in Wisconsin along with his lovely wife and 3 beautiful children. In the year 2009, author Alex gave his archive as donations to the department of the Special Collections and Rare Books at the Northern Illinois University. Among the well known novel series written by author Alex are the Eddie LacCrosse series, the Memphis Vampires series, the Tales of Tufa series, and the Firefly Witch series. Other than these book series, author Alex has also written and released more than 50 short stories in his writing career. Author Alex spent his growing years in west Tennessee at a distance of about an hour from the home of Elvis ‘Graceland’ and around 20 minutes from the home of Tina Turner ‘Nutbush’. Before becoming an author, his situation was not as good as he had to carry out various odd jobs in order to earn his living. But now, as he has established as one of the famous and successful authors, he owns a huge yellow colored house located in Wisconsin.

Author Alex says that he has maintained a habit of doing all his writing works before 6 am in the morning so that he can spend most of the daytime with his children. He uses most of his free time to teach his 3 kids. He always tells them to act like they are quite familiar with the town life. He likes to give the credit of his excellent writing skills and interesting stories to the influences that he gained by reading the popular written works of some of the prominent authors such as Raymond Chandler, Andrew Vachss, Charles de Lint, Robert B. Parker, J. Sheridan LeFanu, and Dashiell Hammett. The Tufa series written by him deals with the musical fairies who originated from the Smoky Mountains and live among the humans. In the Eddie LaCrosse series, author Alex has depicted the story of a sword-on-hire who kills for a fee of 25 gold pieces. In the other novel series written by him, which is known as the Memphis Vampires series, he has shown the polyester clad vampires living in the 1970’s, who spend most of their in trying to overcome the racial tensions among themselves. Author Alex Bledsoe always tries to reach out to his fans and readers. For this purpose, he has developed a personal website, promotional pages on Facebook and Twitter, as well as a few other social networking platforms. With the help of these things, he keeps his fans updated with the recent events happenings in his writing career. The Eddie LaCrosse series written by author Alex Bledsoe consists of a total of 5 books published between the years 2007 and 2014. The first book in this series is titled as ‘The Sword Edged Blonde’. This book was published by the Night Shade publishers in the year 2007. As the story of the novel begins, Edward LaCrosse or ‘Eddie’ is depicted as getting involved in a case that looked quite simple in the beginning. A princess has gone and the king is willing to pay huge amounts of gold to the person who will find her. But, when Eddie LaCrosse is hired as the private investigator to help the king find his princess, he does not realize the mysterious and deceitful web in which he is entering. He is described as a sword jockey who has a talent for detection and discretion. As Eddie begins his investigation he gets entangled in a case involving the brutal murder of a royal heir with the main accused being the queen. The deeper Eddie digs into the case, the more he is forced to face his tragic past that he thought to have left way behind. The novel went on to become a huge hit all across the world and helped author Alex to have a colorful start to the mystery series as well as to his writing career. The success of the novel also set the stage for him which gave him the chance to go on and flourish by writing more and more interesting novels in the future. One of the main reasons for the book to draw such rave reviews is the fact that it was filled with ingenious blend of hard boiled detective fiction and fantasy.

The next installment in the Eddie LaCrosse series written by author Alex Bledsoe was released under the title ‘Burn Me Deadly’. This book was published by the Tor Books in the year 2009. The plot of the book continues to show Eddie LaCrosse as a freelance sword jockey who down and dirty office is located in Neceda. He takes on any task given to him for the price of 25 gold pieces per day. During one of his routine investigations on his horse, Eddie comes across a blonde woman who is half naked and in deep trouble. He promises her to protect her from any danger. But soon, he gets attacked by several assailants who leave him for dead near the mutilated body of the woman. He is very well known to pay his debts and therefore, he begins to search for the people responsible for the death of Laura Lesperitt. The investigation that follows leads Eddie LaCrosse into an entangled mystery that involves a notorious crime lord, a royal scandal, and a femme fatale who does not seem to like clothes on her body. In order to solve the mystery and come out alive of the deadly situation, Eddie is required to make use of all his wits and let justice be served.
