An American screenwriter, as well as an author of children’s literature, the highly prolific writer of Geoff Rodkey has proven himself to be an extremely influential and important novelist over the years, with a number of films to his name too. With big Hollywood productions in his back catalog, along with series of children’s fictional novels, he’s known for a whole range of genres, including various contributions to the comedy series ‘Politically Incorrect’. Getting various awards for his work, he’s become one of this biggest and most versatile voices in the industry, with a clear worldwide audience all across the globe.

Early and Personal Life

Born in 1970 on the 9th of September, the author Geoff Rodkey was born and raised in the city of Freeport, Illinois, in the United States. Growing up in the area it was here that he would form a lot of the ideas that would form much of the basis for his writing career to follow. Gaining inspiration from the world around him, he would soon put it all back into his work, as he was constantly building upon his material.

Starting out in comedy he clearly has an eye for wit in his work, something which he harnessed during the early stages of his career. Working on such legendary shows as Beavis and Butthead, along with ‘Politically Incorrect’, he was well known for his sense of humor. It was throughout his education that he’d also work at honing and refining his voice as a writer in the following years to come.

With films such as ‘Daddy Day Car’ in 2003, ‘RV’ in 2006 and ‘The Shaggy Dog’ also in 2006, he has an extensive backlog of film credits. Working as a screenwriter before becoming a writer full-time, he has mastered his ability for visual flair and the imagery used in his novels. This is something that can be seen throughout his work, along with his clear gift for comedy and humor as well.

Still writing to this very day, he currently resides in New York City in America, where he lives with his wife and their three sons. All living together still, he continues putting out work both on-screen and off, with a lot more projects to come yet. With plenty more planned on the horizon, he is not showing any signs of stopping any time soon, as his writing career grows from strength-to-strength.

Writing Career

Known for his political satire early on, he first ventured into the world of publishing with the book ‘Newtisms’ in 1995. This took a wry look at many of the quotes made by the politician Newt Gingrich in the mainstream press and on his apparent rise to power at the time. Rodkey soon followed this up by assisting with Al Franken’s highly popular book ‘Rush Limbaugh is a Big Fat Idiot’ in 1996.

It was later that he would begin to embark on creating some of his most popular and enduring franchises to date. This begun in 2012 when he brought out the first title in his ongoing ‘Chronicles of Egg’ series, of which he has three in total so far. He later followed this up in 2015 with the first in ‘The Tapper Twins’ series, which also has three in total so far as well.

Winning various awards and nominations over the years for his many different contributions, he’s not without critical acclaim either. Getting an Emmy nomination back in 1996 for his work on ‘Politically Incorrect’, he has gone on to gain recognition for his work throughout his career. With both critical and commercial success, he’s been able to set himself up with a career as a best-selling author on a worldwide scale.

Reaching a worldwide audience, his books have managed to resonate with readers globally on a universal scale. With his humor and wit he’s managed to draw in people from far and wide, using insightful and engaging in-depth characters. Ever since his early days working on his school newspaper, the ‘Pretz News’, he’s managed to build a loyal and eager following.

Ever since his days providing humor pieces for the school newspaper, though, he’s always managed to keep his work grounded. With a clear idea of how real people interact, he’s always managed to capture the essence of what his readers want and what they will engage with. Showing plans to continue with this, he will carry on writing into the foreseeable future, as he has a lot more planned to come.

Blue Sea Burning

Originally brought out in 2014 on the 3rd of April, this was to be the third book in the ongoing ‘The Chronicles of Egg’ series. Brought out through the G.P. Putnam’s Sons Books for Young Readers publishing label, it worked in continuing the saga. Taking it to new and exciting heights, it manages to effectively build upon what came before, whilst also providing some new twists and turns along the way.

This time the main protagonist of Egg is now more determined than ever to take down Roger Pembroke, the most ruthless of slave traders. Leading the Blue Pirates across the seas once again, it seems that trouble is on horizon for Egg and the gang, this time in the form of war. With a treasure hunt to find the loot of the Fire King, along with freeing the Okalu slaves from Sunrise where the silver mine lies, it appears that the elements are against them. Will they be able to stop Roger Pembroke and his nefarious rampage of terror? Can they free the slaves and find the treasure in the process? What will become of the blue sea burning?

The Tapper Twins Run For President

Brought out on the 12th of April in 2016 through the ‘Little, Brown Books for Young Readers’ publishing label, this was the third in ‘The Tapper Twins’ series of novels. Continuing the ever popular series of children’s novels, it manages to recapture the essence of what made the first books work. With the stories of the eponymous protagonists carrying on from where they last left off, it also provides some new twists and turns along the way.

Set to mimic the real ongoing elections of 2016 in satirical form, this book follows Claudia Tapper as she aims to get re-elected as class president of the sixth grade. Whilst she wants this more than anything and to be president one day, Reese Tapper gets involved and runs for president simply to overturn a despised rule by all. Laid out as a series of interviews, text messages, social-media rants and screen-shots, it aims at recreating all the kinetic energy of a real election. How will this affect their relationship in the long-run? Who will win the election? What will happen when the Tapper Twins run for president?
