The debut book of this series is titled as ‘A Time to Live, A Time to Die’. This book is set in Westbury, Massachusetts, and features the lead character in the form of Cameron Flaherty, who is described by the author as an organic farmer. As the novel starts, Cameron Flaherty is depicted as hoping to make an excellent selling during the harvest time. But, her hopes are destroyed when a killer commits a murder on her property. Due to this, her first produce of organic farming yields murder instead of crops. However, in spite of having a slow start to her first growing season, she gets a flourishing CSA because of the excellent marketing strategy of an enthusiastic volunteer from Brazil named Lucinda DaSilva. She has made a vow to eat nothing else other than the local farm produce for a year. Therefore, she helps Cameron Flaherty get a number of subscribers for her CSA. On one occasion, Cam finds that one of her employees named Mike Montgomery does not follow the practices of organic farming. Hence, she fires him. The day end like a normal day at the office except that Mike is found stabbed with a pitchfork in his neck. Cam gets suspected as the murderer, but she joins hands with Lucinda to find out who the real killer is. Her investigation shows that the locality was full of people with possible intentions of making things difficult for her. There was a competitive neighboring farmer, a Swedish chef who has turned to odd means after she rejected his love proposal, and a militia group which had some nonlocal agendas. In order to clear her name, Cam is required to dig up the secrets buried beneath the farm lands of the her organic produce.

The second book in the series is titled as ‘Till Dirt Do Us Part’. It was published in the year 2014 by the Kensington publishers. At the beginning of the novel, it is shown that Autumn has descended on the village where organic farmer Cameron Flaherty lives and she has set up a new chilly diner. Another character named Irene Burr seems to have made a number of enemies because of her wish to purchase the Town Hall of Westbury and turn it into a textile museum. Soon, she ends up being dead and a long list of suspects is prepared from the nearby farms. Even Cameron Flaherty suspects that one of the local farms might up settled an old score with Irene Burr, but she is not sure which one among them is the murderer. As the harvest of the Fall approaches, Cameron is required to sift through a number of possible killers, including the estranged son of Irene, her auto mechanic, as well as a fellow subscriber of CSA. After spending some time investigating about the murder of Irene Burr, Cameron Flaherty realizes that the closer she is getting to solve the case, the more someone is trying to cut short her harvest of the Fall season. Now, she is required to solve the murder case as soon as possible in order to prevent herself from becoming the latest victim of the deadly killer.

I have read several of your books which I have enjoyed very much. I just feel bushed reading Delivering the Truth. The story was interesting but Amesbury was like being back in parts of my childhood because my grandparents lived on Whitehall Road near Lake Gardner. I remember the noon whistle and walking down to the lake edge. The most interesting aspect were the carriage factories. My grandfather moved to Amesbury to be a carpenter to finish the wooden interior of motor cars. I wondered why such a company would be in Amesbury so I guess it was the next version of the carriage companies. Unfortunately the company closed during the depression. I look forward to reading more of your books. Stephanie Rubanowice
