The Cowboys of Cold Creek series is a series of romance books written by one of the New York Times bestselling authors from America named RaeAnne Thayne. It is comprised of 14 books in total published between the years 2006 and 2015. Each and every book in the series deals with the life of one of the cowboys living in the Pine Gulch region in Idaho, United States. The first book in the series was published under the title ‘Light The Stars’. It was released in the year 2006 by the Silhoutte Books publishers. The story of this novel revolves around the main characters named Caroline Montgomery and Wade Dalton, and is set in Pine Gulch, Idaho, The United States. When the main story of the first book of the series begins, it shows that Wade Dalton is experiencing a very bad day in his life. He has a 5 year old daughter, who has set the kitchen on fire accidentally. It appears that she was hungry and was looking for something to eat. She would have to do this if Wade’s mother would have been living with Wade to take a good care of her. She had run away with a scam artist, leaving Wade and his kids alone.

Wade was finding it very difficult to look after his daughter, his house, and himself, in the absence of his mother. Things begin to turn even worse when the beautiful and the annoying daughter of the scam artist comes to his house and asks to stay in his house. She asks Wade Dalton to let her stay as the temporary nanny of his house until the newlyweds come back. This way she will get a shelter to live and will also take care of his 5 year old daughter. Now Wade begins to think whether he should trust the girl or not. He even wonders if he will be able to control himself while the beautiful girl stays in his house with him. Wade Dalton is described by the author as a widower living with 3 children and looking after his ranch. His children used to be watched by his mother for the past 2 years. But, she ran away one night with an artist. Wade did not know of her love affair with the scam artist. On one day, it is the occasion of his birthday and he finds himself very much busy with lots of work on the ranch for the whole week.

Wade’s daughter Nat is 5 years old and goes to elementary school. He also has a couple of sons who are too young to go to school, and a couple of brothers who work along with him on the ranch. The con artist’s daughter, Caroline Montgomery, works as a life coach, who comes to Wade’s town in order to stop his father from marrying his client, who is Wade’s mother. When she arrives at the door of Wade’s ranch to talk to him on the matter, she smells smoke. After a while, it is learned that Wade’s daughter has set the kitchen on fire. Seeing that Wade is finding it very difficult to raise his kids and look after the ranch at the same time, Caroline offers him a helping hand and asks him to let her stay in his house as a temporary nanny. The readers enjoyed reading the book very much and liked the way in which author RaeAnne Thayne has depicted life on the ranch. Wade Dalton’s description as a hard working rancher is very much liked by the readers throughout the world. Due to his busy schedule on the ranch, he is not able to spend some quality time with his kids at home. This was very well received by all those single parents who do not get time to spend with their children. The success of the novel enabled author RaeAnne to work on several other books in the series.

The second book in the Cowboys of Cold Creek series written by author RaeAnne Thayne was titled as ‘Dancing In The Moonlight’. It was released in the year 2006 by the Silhoutte Books publishers. This book’s story is also set in Pine Gulch, Idaho, The United States, and features the primary characters in the form of Magdalena Cruz and Jacob Dalton. At he start of the book, Magdalena Cruz is introduced as a lieutenant who comes back home from duty. The way her return turns up, she had never thought of. The only thing that she wanted was to live alone after returning home. The Daltons living in her neighborhood were the enemies of her family and one among them was Dr. Jacob Dalton, commonly referred to as Dr. Jake. He was very much handsome and was making things difficult for Lieutenant Magdalena Cruz to lead a lonely life. She was getting extremely attracted to him. It appeared that he was not cooperating in her cause. Even Magdalena wanted him to not let her live a lonely life because every time her heart used to begin to crumble the moment he used to come close to her. Dr. Jake Dalton belongs to the family of ranchers in the Cold Creek and is the brother of Seth and Wade. He has suffered from a troubled childhood because of his dishonest and tough father named Hank.

The Daltons have all come up in their lives with a lot of hard work and dedication. Jake, in particular, has become the only physician in the whole of Pine Gulch. And in spite of having accomplished so many things in his life, Jake Dalton lives a lonely life and spends most of his time working for long hours. He gives very little to himself. Magdalena has recently returned home from a national duty in Afghanistan. She has lost a limb in the war and has undergone several surgeries for the treatment of her injury. She is now asked to stay home and get some love and care. At her home, Magdalena remains in the nursing care of her mother Viviana and Rancho de la Luna. Thinking that her career as a nurse in the Army has come to an end, she seems to have lost her self-confidence. Now, she does not wish to have anything else in her life, but to live alone. However, she seems to have forgotten Jake, with whom she has some history and who still lives in her neighborhood. They have spent their growing years together and still have affection towards each other. But, Magdalena thinks if she approaches Jake then he will nothing more than a burden to him because of her injuries. Jake, on the other hand, does not think so. He becomes cheerful by seeing her once again and is ready to accept her in whatever condition she is now. His feelings for Magdalena are still existing in his heart and Jake is not going to let it go just because Magdalena has suffered some injuries during the war.
