One of the most successful novel series written by author H.M. Ward is ‘The Secret Life of Trystan Scott’. It consists of 6 books in total, which were published from 2012 to 2015. The initial novel of the series was published under the title ‘Collide’. This novel was released by the Laree Bailey Press in 2012. The main story of this book revolves around the primary characters named Trystan and Mari. At the start of the novel, Mari is shown as accidentally overhearing that Trystan is in deep love with a girl and cannot believe it. She believes that he is pining over some other girl who does not even know whether he is alive. Trystan being a confident swagger and surrounded by endless streams of girls only appears as a facade to Mari. She even thinks that his activities conceal his lonely life and hide his messed up situation as he tries to run away from his fate which has battered his life to the core. But, Trystan keeps trying to show Mari how much he loves her.

However, he seems to be haunted by each and every broken promise and insincere kiss from his past experiences, as he knows what they turn out to be due to his previous relationships. He faces a tough situation in attempting to convince Mari that she is not just any other conquest for him and that he really loves her from the bottom of his heart. Now, Mari does not know that she is the girl with whom Trystan has fallen in love, but she can very well say that whoever the girl might be, she has fully captured the heart of Trystan. After some time, Mari witnesses the real man hidden behind the mask by Trystan. He tried so hard to hide his true side that everything about him appears very hard for Mari to resist. Later, Trystan prepares and uploads a love song that he had written for Mari in desperation. But, before he can tell her on his own, the video becomes viral. All the people around him try hard to know who the man is, but he seemed to be shielded by a fake account name and a mask hiding his face. He realizes that the consequences will be very disastrous if his identity gets revealed. If this happens, he will not be able make the only girl believe whom he has always wanted to hear it. This way, everything will get exposed that he had tried very hard to hide from everyone.

The story of this book continues to revolve around the primary characters named Trystan Scott and Mari. At the beginning of the book, it is shown that Mari comes to know about Trystan is a mega star on the internet under the anonymous name of Day Jones. But, he cannot speak about it to anyone. And every time she hears the song prepared by him, her heart gets filled with feelings. The song had already spread like a wildfire and everyone she knew had heard the song. But, as soon as the song went viral on YouTube, the record companies began searching for Day Jones and even tried luring him. But, Trystan remained anonymous as no one knew that he was Day Jones, except Mari. She promises Trystan that she will not his secret out. A part of him still regrets uploading the song, but when he sings the song in front of Mari, it fills him with great joy. In his difficult life, chances of rejoicing are very less and he wishes to grab even the smallest ones that he gets. Trystan gets surprised after realizing that Mari does not know that he has sung the song for her. And when he tries to reveal the fact to her, he fears that he might lose her forever. Later, the two indulge into a passionate kiss, which makes Mari angry, who thinks that Trystan will make her a conquest just like he does to other girls. But, Trystan tries very hard to convince her that she is special for him. In order to get away from him, Mari decides to become the bad girl and tries to hook up with someone else. After knowing about this, Trystan tries to stop her, but all his efforts go in vain. Each and every attempt that he makes pushes Mari even further from him. On the other hand, the record companies seem to get closer in tracking down Dday Jones. Trystan has the last day left for graduation after which he has decided to go away from the life of Mari forever. Now, if she is not able to realize his love for her by then, she will never be able to do so in her entire life.
