Early and Personal Life

lauren DeStefano was born on 13 October 1984 in New Haven, Connecticut. She earned her English Degree from Albertus Magnus College and began her writing career with her first publication in 2011.

She feels like she was born to write. She recalls that in her childhood she used to write on almost everything she got her hands on. Her mother used to carry a small notepad and a pen and she ended up writing on them every single time she got her hands on them.

It was her fifth grade teacher who gave her an early inspiration that one can make a living out of writing. From that day, the only thing Lauren has dreamed of is writing and one can see it in her writings.

When she is not writing she loves to play with her pet cats and scream out loud while playing on her Nintendo DS. An amazing personality, Lauren loves to enjoy life to its fullest.

Writing career

Inspired by her fifth grade teacher, Lauren started writing at her fifth grade. Her true inspiration came from a short story Orange Blood which won her first award for brilliant writing. To the surprise of her parents, she wrote this amazing story while attending a math class. An inherent writer, Lauren got the necessary push from time to time which transformed her into a brilliant writer.

Lauren is a writer who loves to stick to her genre, all her books have young adults as her perspective readers and Utopian and dystopian genre. She has carved a niche in the American youth who love to read her titles one after other. She has not disappointed them as well. She comes up with a new title as soon as her readers feel the absence.

Lauren loves to write in series, her most successful books come from series Chemical Garden and Internment Chronicles. So far, she is sticking to these popular series and the readers are expecting more from her on these titles.
