Jason Parent is an American author.
He resides in many places in his head, but he calls the New England region his home in the real world. There are a lot of settings to write in the region and there are many different places where he can write them. He shares his home in the Southeastern Massachusetts reason with Calypso, his ultra-cuddly corgi dog.
Jason says that in another life he spent the majority of his time as a civil litigator appearing before a judge. He at last grew tired of all of the Latin phrases that no one seemed to know how to be able to pronounce. He also explained to people that the real lawsuits are not so similar to the sixty minute time frame of the start, trial, and finalization as seen on television.
Jason decided that it was time to make an exchange and gave up his suits to pursue a life of flip flops as well as designer stubble. The flip flops were not to last and he kind of went into the legal field once more, but says that is another story entirely.
Jason is frequently working or writing but when he is not busy doing that he can be seen pursuing a variety of other activities. These include watching a movie, going kayaking, traveling to any place that will have him, and take on any sport and attempt to play it. That includes the ball tied to the pole where you attempt to hit the ball. He really enjoys writing but also reading too when he has the time.
Jason Parent has written an impressive amount of books since he has debuted on the literary scene. He is the creator and author of such series as What Hides Within and the series Cycle of Evil. He has also penned several stand alone novels, contributed to various collections, written novellas and short stories, and contributed to other series such as Fiction Without Frontiers and Dark Tide Horror Novellas. He is the author of a 2019 video short titled Knock Knock Man. He has also written Knock, a horror along with Kevin Rego.
What Hides Within is the first book in the series by the same name by Jason Parent. If you love a good mystery and horror story that has a humorous tint and will keep you turning the pages to find out what happens next, read this book!
There is darkness within all of us. But when it comes to being inside Clive, this is a real tangible darkness that just wants to get out.
This is the story of main character Clive Menard. It is the tale of a man who is being held by some type of evil. Clive has always had an ordinary life and there is not much about him that would stick out to the average person.
He’s just been a regular old slacker without a spine having an average existence without anything out of the ordinary about it. Clive’s life is about to turn upside down when a man named Chester comes into his life and everything starts to become more unique than ever.
Clive is alone in the waiting room of a hospital, completely disheveled. A series of events have ended up in Clive needing neurosurgery. There’s also a voice inside of his head that is speaking to him and telling him that he should take out the doctor.
A few weeks before this, an investigation into a murder as well as a kayaking outing not related to the event has put the events of the story into emotion. When Clive is converged upon by a psychopath with a propensity for using bombs, a widow spider, and a regretful killer, he is about to find out the extent of the damage that they can do.
Clive is about to find out who he is or what he is, and must do it before all of the chaos around him takes him out for good. He’s got a detective who is totally driven following behind him at every step, as well as a killer who is cloaked within his own social circle.
Clive’s got to walk that balance beam, being caught between being saved or being damned. He’s got to face Chester and the demons within himself, but will he be able to triumph over them or will he find that he’s dealing with too much to ever come out ahead? Read this horror story from Jason Parent to find out!
Victoria is the second book in the What Hides Within series by Jason Parent. If you thought that the first story in this series was engaging, check out the second one too and see what you think.
Victoria is your average teen girl, but she has a secret. She is sixteen years old and in the corners of her mind there is a spider named Chester. Chester spins control and ambition webs, and having the presence of this creature in her mind is starting to challenge her identity.
Victoria Menard has always been up against the odds. Things have never been easy for her in life. She was a thief who was orphaned, and with a mysterious past and no one else in her world, the only thing keeping her company is the talking spider in her head named Chester.
Chester and Victoria have made their way over the various continents, getting the better of languages and leaving chaos behind them wherever they go. They may be friends, but Victoria is starting to envision a life without Chester in it.
She wants to be free, but is starting to find out just how many webs Chester has woven. She now believes that she is hosting a parasite, and she wants nothing more than to get rid of it. The boundaries between the host and parasite start to dissolve as the tensions grow even more.
Chester has his own plans, and he wants to keep himself around. Victoria has to find a way to get rid of him, and fast. But can she evict a parasite who may need her to survive successfully? Or is this going to be a lot more difficult than she thought? Read the second novel in this series to find out.
