Kate Robb is a Canadian published author known for writing romance.
When in her twenties, she dated a lot of duds, in her own words. To be fair, she admits that there were a few gems in the mix. It was all worth it in the end, though, because it ended up giving her a lot of material and inspiration for her romantic comedy stories.
She resides just outside the area of Toronto, Canada. There she expends a lot of energy into acting like she’s not a hockey mom while being in the stands being a hockey mom (with maybe a bit of white wine hidden safely away inside of her mug).
Kate is very clear on the fact that she dislikes owls and wearing shorts, as well as the word ‘whilst’. She has aspirations of one day in life being able to don four inch heels once more.
This Spells Love is the first fictional book and romantic comedy to premiere from author Kate Robb. If you have a soft spot for adorable and lighthearted romance stories, then you are going to want to check this one out too!
When a young woman named Gemma tries to get over a broken heart using magic, she invites a world of new consequences into her life. She thought that it would be easy to just erase her ex-boyfriend from her past, but instead she finds herself in an alternate reality where things have changed a lot more than she expected. Well, you know what they say: be careful what you wish for.
Gemma is devastated when her long-term boyfriend decides to end the relationship by dumping her. She is just twenty-eight years old, and this is how he repays all the time that they spent together? She’s pushing thirty and so she does the only thing that she thinks seems reasonable: she decides to get drunk with her aunt, sister, and best friend Dax.
The group downs some margaritas and after some commiserating and laughs they all decide that it’s the perfect time to attempt a love-cleansing spell. If this spell works, then it will effectively get rid of Gemma’s ex from her memory completely. This sounds great to the newly jilted lover, so she agrees to go ahead with it.
The group start following the instructions for the spell, which extends to a kiss (platonic of course) from Dax, which brings the ritual to its conclusion. Gemma wakes up and starts to find out that the magic has actually worked. It appears that she never went out with her ex. But it also starts to become glaringly apparent that other things about her life has changed, too.
A lot of what was a fixture of her old life is gone. Probably the worst change in this new reality is that Dax doesn’t even know who she is. They don’t have the same friendship and bond here that they do in the other universe.
Gemma is determined to get back to the life that she knew and loved before it’s too late. The only way to do it is to reverse the spell. Gemma has to convince Dax to do what he did before and give her a kiss. She gets on with carrying out her plan, but in the process of making it all happen she starts to realize that she is developing real feelings for Dax.
Gemma starts wondering whether she should return to the way things were after all. Could it be that this Dax is meant for her? And would they even have this same connection in the other timeline? All of a sudden, Gemma has to figure out which world she wants to live in.
Will she stay in this world or return to the world before this one? Is reversing the spell even possible? Read this book to find out!
Prime Time Romance is the second fictional book to come out from Kate Robb. If you enjoy a good romantic story that will keep you entertained, check out this book!
When it comes to true love, is it better on the small screen or in real life? When a young divorced woman discovers herself in the world of her favorite teen soap from the 2000s, will she have her own passionate romantic fling or find out that it’s unrealistic to expect to live what’s on t.v. for yourself?
Main character Brynn has been through way too much romantically. She’s about to turn thirty and she’s just gotten divorce. Everything that she thought was defining her life has disappeared, and it’s become clear that with her former spouse at least she is not going to get a happy ending.
One moment you’re married, and the next you’ve got a male roommate named Josh living with you so that you can pay the mortgage. It’s not all bad, and Brynn is doing her best to try and adapt to being single and the new life that comes along with it.
The only silver lining about this whole situation is that she still has Carson’s Cove to watch, a 2000s teen soap that she loves dearly. The show had a great run of five seasons, but ended without warning on a cliffhanger. This meant that some of the stories went unresolved. Spencer and Sloan didn’t get the chance to declare their mutual love. Still, Brynn still sees the show as perfect because things might happen there, there might be drama, but everything always seems to work out in Carson’s Cove.
That was the beauty of the show and the disappointment of her own life. Brynn just wants her world to be like the show. Then a cake appears on her doorstep and she makes a wish for a happily ever after ending for herself. What’s the harm in making a wish?
However, she wakes up the next day in Carson’s Cove, not her apartment. Strangely, Josh is also there. Everyone is calling them Sloan and Fletch. The only way home is getting Sloan together with Spencer, the handsomest guy in town.
But Josh and Brynn start spending time together and not only developing feelings for each other, but suspecting that the show isn’t as idyllic as it appears. Can they flip the script, or does the teen soap have other plans for them? Read this romance from Kate Robb to find out!
