Briar Boleyn is an accomplished published author from Canada.
She is a USA Today bestselling author and writes fantasy romance stories and series such as the Blood of a Fae series and The Once and Future Pendragon series.
Briar Boleyn is the pen name used by Fenna Edgewood. She has her partner in life and her own dark fae prince who helps her raise their own kingdom of children.
One of the things that she loves doing as an author is creating new worlds and being able to bring them to life and flesh them out. She enjoys doing that and when she is not busy she likes to participate in such activities as playing RPG video games, picking up a great book and sinking into it, pretending that she is Snow White while watching all of the birds at her bird feeder, and hanging with family and friends.
She tends to write the same types of stories that she likes to read, anything having to do with danger, magic, or true love.
On Wings of Blood is the first book in The Once and Future Pendragon series by Briar Boleyn. If you love a good fantasy story with touches of romance, you are definitely going to want to check this story out!
Medra Pendragon died in a brutal and violent way. But she thinks that it was worth it because she was able to save those that she cared about. The only difference right now is that Medra is not dead.
But it may be that she soon prefers death to what is waiting for her. It might be preferable to the various horrors around her when she wakes up. She has woken up not in the afterlife like she had expected but in a completely different world.
In this world, death and danger reign supreme. Everything is there to threaten her, from the various vampires that insist on holding her as a captive to the demons that are moving around in her own head.
She thought that maybe loved ones would be around her here in the afterlife or something. But in place of the friends and the family that she left behind, a pale male is at her side. He’s a vampire, he’s cruel, and he is betrothed to her. They are to be married.
It’s not all bad, though. He is to serve as her protector and to keep her safe. That’s a good thing in a world where everything wants to feed off of you until there is nothing left. After all, Medra’s blood in her veins alone means that she is a target in this world, and targets like her are unlikely to survive on their own for long.
Medra is getting another chance at life, and this time she wants to survive it. To do so, she’s going to have to catch on when it comes to learning how to play a dangerous game, and do it quickly.
She will encounter a magical academy where taking a step out of line could lead to death. She’ll contend with her fiance, a vampire who she doesn’t like at all and is starting to hate more and more as the amount of time that she spends with him increases.
The vampire she is engaged to is everything that she has been warned about. But Medra is starting to realize that this world is not what it seems, and she might not be what she appears to be either. For the truth is that Medra is indeed the prophesized Pendragon, the one who is meant to signal for the return of the beings who would be able to bring new deadly danger to this world: the dragons.
What will Medra end up doing, and will she have to go through with a vampire wedding if she is to survive in this world? Will she find that to her shock and amazement that she is actually developing feelings for the groom?
Anything could happen in this dark magic epic. The Once and Future Pendragon series is placed in a new world that is different from the Blood of a Fae series world, but also features characters who have crossed over as well.
The book can be read independently of the other series and has darker tones. With unique world building, new mythology, and romantic fantasy plots driven by the characters, this is a fun and entertaining book! Pick up a copy if you want to catch all of the adventure for yourself!
