When it comes to Etherya’s Earth, these are not the safest times to be about. Princess Miranda is a slayer, and she has nursed a hatred of the Vampyres for centuries. Try a thousand years, to be exact.

Ever since the Awakening, she has been battling to try and protect her people. She is a royal, but she decided that she was going to embrace her warrior side too. Now is not the time to sit around and be a princess.

Then a female Vampyre comes along, washing up on the riverbank shore of her compound. Miranda thinks that this is just the opportunity that she needed and takes the chance to go on the offensive. Perhaps this will give them the edge that she has so desperately been seeking.

It turns out that this captive is the sister of Vampyre King Sathan. He’s very affected by his sister being in captivity and so he agrees that he will go with Miranda to try and get the Blade of Pestilence. Along the way, he is hoping that he will be able to do something about the endless war that his people seem to be in. A time of peace would be a new change that would be most welcome.

Miranda dislikes him thanks to the raids that have been done to get the life-giving blood of the Slayers. He understands completely why she would feel this way, but their blood is essential to staying alive. Even though she hates him, Sathan has a certain admiration for the royal warrior and her tenacity, passion, strength and stubbornness.

It isn’t too long before the Vampyre King starts to realize that he might be developing feelings for the female warrior. The two of them ultimately decide that they can come to a truce and agree to be something resembling allies just to get farther in their quest and not waste energy on being enemies.

Miranda is struggling against the urge to get the Vampyre to put his fangs on his neck and then fall into something more. They have to be strong or they could risk losing everything. Read this book for yourself to find out how it ends! If you are a sucker for a happy ending, you won’t be disappointed.

The Elusive Sun is the second book in the Etherya’s Earth series by Rebecca Hefner. If you enjoy a good fantasy book, then check this story out!

Lila was born into the high life in the Vampyre kingdom, coming into the world as an aristocrat. She has been promised to be wed to the King of the Vampyres, Sathan, for a thousand years. She had always respected his position as the king and even though she cared about him in some way, she could not deny that she always had feelings for his brother far more than she did for him.

Then things get easier for her to break away when the king falls for someone else. Lila ends their agreement and has to accept that she will not be queen. She is also totally scared at what her life is going to become now that her fate is once more up in the air.

For his part, Latimus has always had feelings for Lila. He’s had a soft spot for her ever since they were children and playing together on the riverbanks. He always respected the arrangement between herself and his brother, but never turned away from his secret feelings for her deep down.

Latimus accepted the betrothal, but now that it is over and his brother has married someone else, he is free to do as he wishes. He also starts to notice that Lila may actually have feelings for him as well. The only problem is that he feels that he is too broken and she deserves better. He wants to move her towards a different man, someone better than himself.

The war against the Deamons continues to go on, and Latimus is up against the Dark Lord Crimeous. Lila goes through a horrible attack and when she is threatened, Latimus feels shaken up from head to toe.

He has always wanted to do his best to avenge her. Now he is also having to contend with the feelings that sit deep in his heart and the passion that he has for her. But perhaps it is too late, and Lila has no interest in him anymore. Can Latimus win her back and ultimately claim her? Read this romance from Rebecca Hefner to find out!
