Carla Simpson is a published author who also writes under the pen name of Quinn Taylor Evans.

The first books that she wrote ended up being historical romances. Some of these stories have found re-release for Kindle on Amazon. While she was getting started writing, she was the recipient of three national awards for best historical romance. She also wrote two contemporary suspense novels, a time travel story, and two movie options.

With the publication of her Merlin’s Legacy series, she expanded her writing to that of the fantasy world. She had another active career but found that the pandemic ended it. She was trying to figure things out and get something going while at home and decided that murder was a great topic to dive into. On a fictional basis, of course!

Carla always had a love of history. Her Deadly series with Angus Brodie and Mikaela Forsythe was derived from her fascination with the changes that arrived during the industrial revolution, as well as some new inventions, and how it affected the twentieth century.

Mikaela is independent but has to rely on trusting the Scot just this once. The two actually have great chemistry as partners, but is it enough to catch a killer? And can it guarantee that they won’t wind up dead?
