Becca Day is a mystery fiction novelist from the United Kingdom where she lives deep in the woods of Surrey alongside her husband, one kid, and their dog.

Earlier on, she went to Guildford College and then was the founder of her own theatre troupe that focused mostly on mysteries. It was from this that she developed her love of crime fiction and after selling the company, she dove into crime fiction writing.
Over the years, her short stories have won several prizes but she would become an even more reputable novelist with the writing of “The Girl Beyond the Gate,” her debut novel in 2022.

While she never once thought of one day becoming a novelist while growing up, she has been a storyteller for the longest time. She even remembers writing a cringe-worthy short story that was then published in the school’s library that made her something of a celebrity.
She used to daydream in her earlier years and her parents and teachers often told her to get her head out of the clouds. Still, she could not stop her mind from wandering and she spent her early adulthood and teenage years trying to write down what her wandering mind was thinking about.

She started writing professionally working for a website that was all about parenting. It was also at this time that she got into website and graphic design even though her heart has always come back to fiction writing.

She penned several stories and it was in 2019 that she finished her first manuscript that will never see the light of day. In March 2021, she began querying her second manuscript and was quite lucky as by May of the same year, she signed with DHH Literary Agency’s Emily Glenister.
As such, she was querying for less than two months which is quite rare given that most authors query for at least a few months before they get any agents to bite. It was a good thing that she got published that soon since her mental health then was not that great.
Outside of her writing, she also works with William Shaw to run Reading Parties. Running these parties with the highly talented Shaw, she has had the opportunity to collaborate with amazing authors such as TM Logan, Phoebe Morgan, C.L. Taylor, and Will Dean in addition to a bunch of other professionals in the industry.

In December 2023, Jericho Writers announced that Becca Day would be taking up the newly created role of head of membership and marketing at the organization.

She would be replacing Anna Burtt who was head of events and did a range of activities that she would now be taking over. Becca was hired as marketing manager because of her experience as a publisher of books and her background in digital-focused business.
When she is not attending Reading Parties or working on her novels, she can be found at home in Surrey looking after her kids and their dog. Becca sometimes interacts with her fans and readers about her books on her social media platforms.

Becca Day’s novel “All Her Little Lies” is a beautiful story that tells of the life and times of Cynthia and Alex who are best friends.

Alex works and lives on Alex’s farm and things had been going well until Hannah, Cynthia’s 18-year-old daughter disappeared. Daniel who is Alex’s son is her boyfriend and after he had a brain injury following an alleged attack, everyone believes he may be responsible.
He is known for going out and camping in the middle of nowhere supposedly to clear his head. Unfortunately one of these excursions coincided with the disappearance of Hannah.

Alex is in a frantic mood when he cannot communicate with Daniel and heads to the farmhouse where he makes a shocking discovery. But she covers up the evidence of her discovery which means she has to make many lies that may come back to bite her.

Stefan Warner is the police detective who investigates the case but her boss thinks that since she is known to the families she may be too close. However, she believes that she can be professional and objective despite her relationship with the families.

Becca Day’s “The Girl Beyond the Gate” is an interesting work of fiction that tells the story of Jodie Madison. She had moved to Kensington Grove hoping to overcome her problems and make a fresh start. She loves Kensington Grove as it is a gated community that has been refurbished after its days as an asylum.

Her 14-year-old neighbor Lacey is an interesting character who due to her illness is restricted to a wheelchair. Norah her mother is an overprotective and very controlling person who forbids her daughter from communicating with anyone or making friends unless she is present.
Whenever Norah is around, Lacey is powerless but when Norah learns that Jodie and Lacey have been talking, she blows a fuse and is angry with Jodie. She tells Jodie that she will have to keep away from Lacey but it is all in vain.

Jodie notices something strange about the new neighbors but is still determined to protect Lacey from her mother. Jodie feels that she needs to get Lacey away from her deranged mother, as she keeps finding some disturbing information about her.
The only complication is that Norah knows all about Jodie’s background and may just use it against her.

“The Secrets We Buried” by Becca Day is the story of Frankie Crawford, who is a devoted wife and mother of half a dozen children.

Following the devastating loss of Geneva her friend, she and her family quit Sandbanks the wealthy enclave, and moved to London. But by leaving, she walked away from two women who were her best friends.

She walks away from the logical and strong lawyer Madine who has kept them on the narrow and straight and from the chic doctor Zara who is even closer than Nadine. Despite their closeness they begin to drift once Frankie leaves Geneva.
Elliot who is Geneva’s husband finds moving impossible as right from the start, the police and public pointed fingers at him when his wife was murdered.

But despite strong public sentiment and a police investigation, he went missing and was never arrested. But the man is now back and has thrown everyone’s lives into confusion.

Compounding everything, Zara loses her mother which forces the women back together in Sandbanks, where their meeting is particularly awkward.

Things get interesting when true crime YouTuber Juniper Rose comes into town determined to investigate the mysterious death of Geneva.
