Bella Di Corte is an American author of romantic suspense books. She was born and raised in New Orleans. She has always wanted to be an author, even before she took a pen and paper to write professionally. Her books will steal your heart as they are filled with likeable characters you will easily connect with. Bella writes stories of men who walk the thin line between irredeemable and salvable. Her stories are filled with rich world-building and well-detailed and strong characters.
When not writing, you will find Bella spending time with her family and their four dogs. She is also an avid reader, loves to cook, listens to music, and loves photography.
Bella’s characters are complex and feel like people you know. They often feel like friends and family you’ve known your entire life.
Each story she crafts is an actual work of art. Her ability to create relatable characters and profound tales makes her books a joy to return to.
If you’re familiar with Bella’s Gangsters of New York series, you’ll remember Harrison Ryan, aka Harry Boy. There was so much about Harry that remained a mystery. We didn’t know what drove him, the extent of his losses, or how these experiences fueled his obsession with Mari.
Bella peels back the layers of Harry’s character and reveals depths we never imagined. We meet a Harry who begins confronting some hard truths about himself, his fixation on Mari, and his strong feelings for Georgina. Some of these revelations come with guidance from Nonno.
Though not a traditional mafia narrative, both characters have strong ties to the mob world. Harrison is the house lawyer for the Irish Mob leader in Hell’s Kitchen, while Gigi is a cousin of Mac Macchiavello, linked with the Fausti Family.
This new look into Harrison’s life and story from the beginning presents a character who is easy to love. He’s not the Harrison we thought we knew. As his journey unfolds, the question remains: can he find the right person to love?
Harrison Ryan has spent years on a seven-point plan that he believes will lead to the perfect ending. He believes that he’ll get the girl of his life and live happily ever after. He’s poured everything into this plan and is starting to question whether it was always just a dream. Mariposa Flores has always been his ideal woman. He’s known her forever and watched her grow and struggle. When the time came, he realized he lost her to a man he feels doesn’t deserve her.
Determined to make Mariposa see she doesn’t truly love her new husband, Harrison strikes a deal with Georgina (Gigi) Dolce. He has seven days to make Mari jealous and regret her decision. Those seven days turn into a whirlwind with one of the most stunning women in the world. Gigi also brings her complexities to the mix. As their week together unfolds, Harrison begins to question his true desires. Will he achieve his dream or discover someone else is his true match?
Bella Di Corte’s Skin Deep is an emotional journey. It’s filled with laughter, joy, tension, and danger. The story spares us the painful details of Nonno’s death, although his influence remains essential. If the books had Academy Awards, Nonno would have won Best Supporting Character for Skin Deep and Machiavellian.
Readers will find themselves experiencing plenty of emotions alongside the characters. Like her other books in the series, this novel is packed with action and features a couple that readers will love and root for.
Bella Di Corte crafts some of the most enchanting love stories you’ll ever read. From the first page, you are drawn into her characters’ lives, allowing you to feel every emotion right alongside them. Harrison and Gigi are brought to life with action and romance. This ensures that you root for them every step of the way.
Each character in the story plays a crucial role. This kind of book grips you from the start; you’ll find yourself eagerly turning pages, unable to put it down.
Machiavellian is the first book in the Gangsters of New York series by Bella Di Corte. We meet Mac and Mari as they grapple with personal demons that have haunted their lives. Mac’s troubles began at 23 when his fiancée, Angelina, revealed she was pregnant. However, she was also involved with his brother, Achille. The child was not Mac’s but his brother’s.
Achille ordered Angelina to be raped and brutally killed right in front of Mac. This vicious act was followed by Mac’s own near-death experience, where his throat was slashed, and he was later dumped into the Hudson River.
The reasons behind these brutal actions are complex and unfold gradually throughout the series. Each layer of Mac’s past is peeled back and reveals the intricate web of deceit, violence, and betrayal that has shaped his life. As we dive deeper, we discover the motivations and secrets that drive the characters.
Mac’s downfall stemmed from a poignant encounter with a 5-year-old girl- a fragile butterfly in his harsh world. Tasked with a brutal assignment to eliminate her parents and her, too, he couldn’t bring himself to do it. Instead, he chose to protect her, concealed her identity, changed her name, and placed her with another family. For Mac, her innocence held more value than anything else; he was willing to sacrifice everything to safeguard her.
The depth of this story unfolds as we witness the profound impact of Mac’s actions and his unwavering devotion to the little girl. She became his unexpected beacon of light, a symbol of hope he never anticipated. When they unexpectedly reunite sixteen years later, it reinforces Mac’s belief that saving her was always the right decision.
This narrative is intricately woven and explores the theme that one’s journey is defined not by how it begins but by the choices made – an important reminder of redemption and the enduring power of love.
