Gareth Brown is a published author.
He’s been writing books ever since he was a teen. He will be the first to admit that the majority of the book that he wrote were not good and is happy that they never ended up making it to any type of publication status.
The first novel to come out from this author is titled The Book of Doors. It was released in February of 2024 in the U.K. under Bantam and in the United States through William Morrow. The book has also sold the foreign language rights for the book to over twenty other countries.
Gareth shares something in common with other writers in that a lot of his time is usually devoted to reading or writing. He loves to barbecue, to travel, to get out the bass guitar and play a little bit, and to watch some snooker.
He confesses that he has a tendency that he enjoys to fall asleep when in front on the television. He is married and resides in Scotland along with his partner and two dogs, Skye terriers.
The Book of Doors is the debut fictional novel from author Gareth Brown. This is a book that is filled with everything, including romance, adventure, and magic in a fantasy book that will leave you happy that you added this to your reading list!
Where would you go if you were able to open up a door that could take you to anyplace that you wanted? Cassie Andrews works as a bookseller living in New York City. Her life is largely not that special, it’s just the same things that everyone else is doing with nothing really shaking things up. That all changes when she is handed a gift thanks to a customer that she knows.
The gift is a strange book that is full of writing that she does not recognize and many drawings. But one thing that appears to clear things up a little is the note that is attached to the Book of Doors, a message hand written in the front that informs her that the object she possesses is what is known as the book of doors. Any door can be transformed into a portal to somewhere else.
Cassie is about to find out that this book is very special and not like any other. It gives powers to whoever has it, and Cassie is off to the races once she finds out. She recruits her best friend Izzy to see what this book can do and their lives are suddenly not so ordinary and boring. Now they have the chance to go anyplace that they want to in the entire world.
There are many different magical books that exist out in the world, however. This is not the only one. They are out there, and they can do many different things that could be good or bad depending on who has them. There are also people out there that want the very book that Cassie has in her possession and may stop at nothing to get it for themselves.
Izzy and Cassie are constantly dealing with all types of danger and violence. The only individual that may be able to help them is a man named Drummond Fox. He’s got his own things in his past to deal with, but he also happens to have his own hidden magical book library that he has placed in the shadows in order to keep them safe. The instinct is well within logical reasoning, because there are endless people that would do anything to get them.
There are some doors out there that also ought not to be opened, and Cassie and Izzie are about to find that out. But with an evil force out there that’s after them all, will they be able to escape certain injury or death? Can Drummond help them at all? Read this fantasy novel from Gareth Brown to find out!
