Love’s Charade is the first novel in the Seven Sisters series of fictional novels by Rachel Cosgrove Payes. If you have been looking for a classic romance story to read, give this one a try!
You should never attempt to marry a younger son. Merrie Lassiter knows that her father is a younger son, and this means that he has not been able to inherit a title or money. Her mother has instructed her on what to do in the world of romance so that she can land an attractive partner and mate and also a match that has some money and property to his name.
Merrie has taken those instructions and is getting ready for a busy social season in the city of London. Now that she is in the mix, she is planning on looking for a man who is at least up to the title of earl, a duke if she can get it. If people there take her to be an heiress, she cannot be blamed for it.
Then there’s Beau Fallon. He’s a handsome guy, and now he’s gotten invitations to parties by allowing people to believe that he is a lord with a significant fortune behind him. He is a lord, but not much else, all due to the fact that he is a younger son. The cursed and dreaded position of being the younger son!
Merrie ends up meeting Beau and making his acquaintance while they are going through the seemingly endless parties that are happening. But when the truth about their status comes out, it may end up being a way bigger deal than either of them could have anticipated. Can they accept each other for who they are and find love despite a lack of status? Or will both of them be shunned from the echelons of society they so hoped to join forever? Read this book from Rachel Cosgrove Payes to find out!
Love’s Renegade is the second book in the Seven Sisters series by Rachel Cosgrove Payes. If you have been looking for a romance to read or read the first book in the series and liked it, go ahead and give this romance a try! You just might be glad that you did.
Main character Lena Lassiter has two sisters, both of them older than her. They have managed to accomplish quite a bit in their life and now they are both marrying lords. Lena wonders what it is that she has to show by way of comparison in terms of accomplishments.
Sure, she writes beautifully, and her penmanship is often unmatched. She’s also gotten a position with Lady Beekman. Her sisters do have quite a lot more than her, but it gives Lena different possibilities to be in her own position. She’s now got the chance to have access to young men who are not only eligible but wealthy too, and would end up being good husbands to them.
The only problem is that Lena got her husband to be much too quickly. It was all part of Lady Beekman’s deranged plan to shield her godson from those scheming women by having Lena pose as his bride to be.
Lena never thought that she would end up engaged so quickly. All to a man that she had not met before, while in the process of falling for a young man who did not have riches and was not set up to be a good spouse.
Will this young lady be able to figure a way out of the strange scheme that she has found herself mired in? Or will she discover that she is going to have to get serious and figure out what really matters the most to her in life, whether that is a strong love connection with someone who is her equal or eschewing true romance and love for status and security in a world that she has always dreamed of joining.
Can Lena figure out what it is that she really wants? Or is she about to find that once you start getting confused on whether you’re marrying for status or for your heart that things can get very tricky indeed? Read the second book in this series from Rachel Cosgrove Payes to find out!
