Amanda Abram
Amanda Abram started her writing career at a young age, writing these weird short stories for her elementary school writing class, and writing “Full House” fanfic during her spare time. She graduated to writing novel length Harry Potter fanfics before finally taking a shot at writing original novels of her own.

As a hopeless romantic that enjoys remembering a simpler time, she primarily pens Young Adult romantic comedies allowing her to relive her youth vicariously through her teen characters.

When Amanda’s not stressing over her chronic writers’ block, she can be found binge watching episodes of K-dramas on Netflix.

Amanda’s favorite romance tropes are friends-to-lovers and enemies-to-lovers, with fake relationship a close 3rd.

Her least favorite has to be insta-love, just because she loves a good slow-burn romance. She’s also not that big a fan of love triangles; since it’s either too hard to choose, or it’s easy to decide but the MC doesn’t wind up with who she wants them to wind up with and she’s just bummed out.

Amanda deals with writer’s block by crawling into a fetal position and riding it out until it has ended.

She relates to Emma from “Challenge Accepted” the most. Like her, Amanda also has a few irrational fears and she is obsessed with books. Although sadly, her own book collection is not at all organized.

“Something New” is probably her favorite novel that she has ever written. Possibly because it took her the longest to write, so she was able to spend a bunch of time with the characters. Not only is it her favorite, but it’s the one that she is the most proud of.

“The Importance of Getting Revenge” is the first stand alone novel and was released in 2017. Lexi Turner (17 years old) has just been dumped by her boyfriend of 3 years on the exact day that she was planning on “doing it” with him. Making things worse is the fact that he dumped her for a life-force-sucking demon. Devastated by this turn of events, she decides there’s just one way to deal with this: get revenge.

Enter Jase Holloway, Lexi’s old childhood friend and an adversary to her ex. The plan is to somehow talk Jase into pretending to be her boyfriend in order to make her ex jealous, make him regret dumping her and make the guy come crawling back to her on his hands and knees, begging her for forgiveness.

And with Jase on board, Lexi’s confident that she’ll get the revenge she deserves. However nothing is ever quite that simple, and Lexi quickly finds out firsthand that sometimes what you want isn’t always what you get, and sometimes what you get is what you wanted the whole time.

Amanda’s writing style pulls you into the story and keeps you reading until the end. Lexi and her friends will get you laughing out loud in this pretty funny romantic comedy.

“Challenge Accepted” is the second stand alone novel and was released in 2018. Logan Reynolds and Emma Dawson have been enemies and neighbors for as long as either one of them can remember. Despite the fact their BFF dads have been encouraging them their entire lives to be friends, they have successfully managed to avoid one another at all costs. Emma believes that Logan is a callous jerk that cares only about himself. While Logan believes that Emma is a stuck up goody two shoes without a life. The two couldn’t be any more different.

Which is why Emma’s so confused when the Emerson High Computer Club’s “Summer Fling Compatibility Test” concludes that they are a perfect match. However Logan is not confused. He lied on the test in order to make his “sometimes girlfriend” believe they aren’t meant to be and now Emma’s furious that he made her lose out on the shot at having a swoony summer romance with the perfect guy.

Logan is forced by his stepmom to make it up to her, and decides to help her win the heart of her lifelong best buddy, named Matt. He knows exactly how much of a challenge this is going to be. Matt’s good looking, outgoing, and popular. Emma’s bookwormish, quiet, and scared of everything. But Logan’s convinced that with some huge tweaking, he’ll be able to transform her into somebody that Matt could fall for. However while the summer continues heating up, so does their budding friendship. And soon, they just might be faced with the biggest challenge of falling for one another.

This is a charming and delightful read that plays out some great YA tropes (nerdy girl, a bet, hot guy, and boy next door) but it is enjoyable all the way through. These are fun characters and they’re all enjoyable.

“Something New” is the third stand alone novel and was released in 2020. Cassie Briggs never thought that she would get married at the age of 16, particularly not to Dylan Meyers, who’s her boyfriend’s best friend. They are not married for real, obviously. It is just a project in their Life Economics class, where every student gets paired up randomly to manage finances, deal with catastrophic events, and make some important life choices.

It was only supposed to be an easy A, however she’s not so sure now. Getting paired up with Dylan’s bad enough, however then Elijah (Cassie’s boyfriend) gets paired up with his ex Hannah, who is his former childhood sweetheart that broke his heart. The girl that took him months to get over, if he even has at all.

As the project heads to an inevitable heartbreak for her, she starts finding comfort in the most unexpected place: her pretend husband, her now ex’s best friend. The last guy in the entire world she should be getting closer to. And while Elijah vows to stop at nothing to win her heart back, despite being the one that broke it, she quickly finds herself facing her own important life choice: does she want to give him another shot? Or could she really be ready for something new?
