Kendall Talbot is an award-winning novelist, thrill seeker, virtual killer, and hopeless romantic. She is best known for penning stories that cause hearts to thump from the swoon-worthy romances, exotic locations, and action-packed suspense.
She published “Lost in Kakadu” her debut novel in 2013 and has since become one of the most prolific authors in the genre. The novel was the winner of the 2014 Romantic Book of the Year.
In addition, her novels have been finalists for Best New Author, Best Romantic Suspense, Best Continuing Series, and Best Crime Novel.
As a lover of travel, she has had some very thrilling adventures in more than 46 countries where she has visited. She has gone down freezing waterfalls in abseils, jumped off a mountain, catapulted out of a white water raft, and swam with sharks.
She currently makes her home in Brisbane, Australia, where she lives with her fluffy little dog, where she does most of her writing.
When she is not writing, she can be found enjoying cheese and wine with her crazy friend and planning her next international travel adventure.
She loves to hear from her readers and interacts with them in her newsletter and her social media profiles on Facebook, Bookbub, and Amazon.
Talbot has always been a goal-oriented person and has far too many goals. At some point, her bucket list had at least 100 goals, and “write a novel” was at number 69.
Since she has a day job working as a bookkeeper, she knows everything about numbers and almost nothing about English writing and grammar.
As such, she thought that the best way to improve her vocabulary, grammar, and spelling would be by writing a story.
Every Christmas and birthday, her husband usually checks out her bucket list to find something to be inspired by. In 2008, he visited the Queensland Writers Center and got her a “Year of the Novel Course,” which changed her life.
For nearly a year, she took Sunday off to work with a teacher who helped her navigate the novel writing course. She set out in February and by the time November was done and she typed “the end,” she had at least 68,000 words written.
It was this that would become her award-winning novel “Lost in Kakadu,” which she published half a dozen years later.
Given that her husband works away from home most days, she takes that time to write. She usually does it for four hours every night when her husband is not home and for about 6 hours on the weekend.
Outside of her writing, something interesting about Kendall Talbot that most people do not know about is that she is a great lover of food.
She loves to eat it, cook it, and often writes about it too. One fun thing she did while she was writing “Treasured Lies” and “Treasured Secrets” was to cook everything Rosalina the Italian heroine made.
Apart from her love for cooking, she also loves to read nonfiction and fiction works and everything from romance and crime.
Her favorite novels which she has read over and over include Dan Brown’s “Deception Point,” Ben Kozel’s “Three Men In A Raft,” Matthew Reilly’s “Ice Station,” Alice Sebold’s “The Lovely Bones,” and Wilbur Smith’s “River God.”
Other than that, she also collects expensive perfume and junky jewelry and her favorite night out is having a fabulous bottle of wine with friends.
“First Fate” by Kendall Talbot is the story of a cruise like no other.
At the opening of the novel, the “Rose of the Sea” is struck by an electromagnetic pulse, turning a pleasure cruise into a drifting nightmare.
Desperate and powerless, the eleven hundred crew and passengers have to come to terms with the fact that no one is coming to save them.
The captain had been killed instantly by the EMP, thrusting Gunner McCrae into the skipper position. However, while he had been trained, nothing could have prepared him for the savagery of an unforgiving ocean and desperate humans.
Gabrielle Kinsella the anchorwoman has a reputation for telling shocking stories and should have been reporting on the biggest headline but cannot, as she is fighting for her children’s lives.
Madeline Jewel is an acrobat who as a child had been held captive by a predator and now works as an acrobatic dancer on the ship. However, now that she is trapped in the elevator, her worst fears come to life.
Lastly is Zon Woodrow, a gambler and gator hunter extraordinaire who won his ticket in poker. Now that the security system on board is shot, he thinks he can get to the vault in the casino and beat the house for once.
With resources dwindling aboard the ship and the body count rising, will human nature result in inevitable darkness or will all the ordinary people on the Rose of the Sea survive the extraordinary disaster?
“Feral Fate” is the second novel of the “Waves of Fate” series of novels by Kendall Talbot.
The nightmare on board the Rose of the Sea is not over yet. However, the surviving passengers and crew of the ship finally landed safely. They find themselves on a deserted island that could not be any more dangerous and sinister.
When Gunner the first mate is stripped of his position as skipper, he fears that the thin semblance of order will soon turn into outright lawlessness, as humans are known to be feral when they get desperate.
Gabby who is taking care of a child whose parents are all dead will do anything to get her tortured family back onto the mainland and safety. However, she does not have her epilepsy medication and could be struck by a fatal seizure and end up dead at any moment.
The power-hungry Zon is the self-appointed leader of the fracturing group who finds himself at the mercy of his subjects and the island after a deadly accident resulting from one of his reckless decisions.
Will the deadly secrets of the island destroy them all, even as supplies run low and tempers flare?
Kendall Talbot’s novel “Final Fate” is set in a splintered world, where the survivors could not have been more disunited.
After living at sea adrift for months on end and landing on a sinister island, four survivors are offered a safe haven by a rescue party.
However, the civilized society they had left when they embarked on the cruise is no more, as the world is ruled by dangerous fractious anarchy.
Determined to find his daughter and wife, Gunner charges into the mainland’s chaos, where he will have to deal with some very dangerous people who have some very dark motives.
Zon is coming back home and in his quest to save Jessie’s family, he may just lose the only woman he ever loved in Jessie.
Back on the island and still trapped are Madeline and Gabby among other desperate survivors. They believe they have been forgotten by everyone but things are only set to get worse when something sinister lands on the island.
The United States is no more and in the world of disorder, they cannot help but question if they will ever make it back home.
