She now has more than thirty works to her name among them contributions to the “With Dreams Only Of You,” an omnibus, several single-standing novels, and more than two dozen works across several series.
Wright became a published author in 1977 when the novel “Caroline,” which would then be published as “Rescued by A Rogue” came out,
She was only twenty-three years old at the time, and over the years, she would become known for her acclaimed and beloved historical romances.
Most of her novels have settings in the American West, Medieval France & England, Regency England the United States, and Colonial America.
The “Beauvisage” and “Raveneau” novels have become very popular historical romance fiction novels that many collectors proudly keep on their shelves.
Her romance fiction has been hailed as “romance the way it is supposed to be written” by “Romantic Times Magazine.”
Cynthia currently lives with Alvaro her partner in northern California, in their 1930s-era Spanish cottage.

“Silver Storm” is the debut novel of the “Raveneau” series set in the latter part of the eighteenth century.
The action happened mostly in the seas off the American coast during the Revolutionary War period when the Americans worked with the French to fight off the British alongside privateers who also played their part.
The lead is Devon Lindsey, a young woman who was brought up in the small Connecticut city of New London. She grew up dreaming of one day having the same adventures she had read about her sea captain father.
Things turn interesting when she meets Captain Andre Raveneau, a French privateer who mesmerizes the 12-year-old. When she is seventeen, the man manages to get her a kiss in a carriage and even though he quickly forgets the encounter, she does not.
When she is eighteen, New London comes under attack from the British. As the town burns, Devon is saved by a licentious sailor who takes her to “The Black Eagle,” the leading Raveneau ship.
It is on the ship that she once again meets Andre Raveneau, who proceeds to steal more than a kiss this time.
It is a well-written and superbly told tale which cannot be done justice in a short review. Nonetheless, it is a work full of twists and runs that will hold you captive for the entirety of the 341 pages.
Cynthia Wright’s novel “Her Husband, the Rake” is a story that continues to follow Devon and Andre Raveneau, who were first introduced in “Silver Storm,” the debut of the series.
This work provides glimpses of the tempestuous life of the couple as they began living as man and wife.
At the beginning of the novel, the couple has been blessed with a one-year-old son in addition to Moue their six-year-old daughter. Similar to many couples, they have less time for fun and adventure once they get their second child.
Given her own upbringing, Devon is all about ensuring that her kids have the best childhood and will never doubt how important they are to their parents.
However, Andre feels like a tiger in a cage and hates being asked what he is doing and where he is going by his wife. He is often gone for hours at a time and works constantly to ensure that his family gets all that they need for sustenance and more.
Given how much he works, he hardly spends any time with family and when he is home is easily annoyed. But then an old friend turns up and Andre comes to discover that he has been taking Devon’s love for granted.
He knows that he has to convince her that he has changed his ways if he is not to lose her.
It is a meticulously researched and well-written novel with a happily-ever-after ending.
“Smuggler’s Moon” by Cynthia Wright is one of the most thrilling novels in “The Raveneau Family” series of novels.
The lead in the novel is Julia, a young woman who has become used to managing her own life and her family despite her age. She had become proficient at taking care of herself and other people since her parents had at some point been unable to.
Her parents’ choices especially those of her father were what resulted in Julia meeting Lord Sebastian Travarre. Like Julia, he has many familial problems but on his side, these had been caused by the actions of George his brother.
The man is attracted to her but since he finds her to be very temperamental, he develops a preference for Sahra her sister. The latter is more submissive and shy and he finds himself asking for her hand in marriage.
Sahra panics when she gets the proposal as she is not interested in marrying Sebastian. Julia believes that she can fix everything by taking her sister’s place.
But when Lord Sebastian learns about the deception he wishes he had the power to send her back but then he consummates the union.
It is a beautiful story of rebirth, growth, and love between two protagonists in a very beautiful setting in which all the characters are well described making for a pleasant read that comes with a little suspense.
