Maggie Knox is the pseudonym of the writing due of Marissa Stapley and Karma Brown. Writing as Maggie, she made her debut when she published “The Holiday Swap” in 2021. She has since then published “All I Want for Christmas,” another bestselling novel that came out in 2022.

Karma Brown has been described as a bestselling novelist that is best known for penning self-help and romance fiction work. What many people do not know is that she is also an award-winning journalist that has written many articles and columns on self-help in many prestigious publications.

She is the author of “Recipe for a Perfect Wife,” a work that would become a national bestselling title. She is also the author of “The 4% Fix,” the non-fiction work that would also go on to become a blockbuster-making bestseller in many different places.
Over the years, Karma Brown’s work has been featured in many prestigious publications including “Chatelaine,” “Self,” “Today’s Parent,” and “Redbook.” As an internationally bestselling author, she has made a reputation for herself penning works filled with emotion that always elicit a few tears.

Brown now has more than half a dozen works to his name and has shown no signs of slowing down any time soon. These are works of tested friendships and deep secrets, life-altering accidents, and romantic betrayals among many other themes that are acted out by her many intriguing characters.

She currently makes her home just outside Toronto where she lives with Fred her labradoodle and her family.

The second half of the Maggie Knox writing duo is Marissa Stapley who just like Karma Brown used to be a journalist. She is a former magazine editor turned internationally bestselling author of at least four novels.
The author made her debut with the publishing of “Mating for Life,” a literary fiction work that came out in 2014. Immediately it was published, the novel shot up the charts and became a bestselling title that has been published in more than 13 countries and translated into more than nine languages.

Stapley’s journalism has been featured in prestigious newspapers and magazines across North America. Some of the places that she has been published include “Reader’s Digest,” “The Globe and Mail,” “Today’s Parent,” “Elle,” and “Toronto Star.”

In her childhood, Marissa used to write a lot in her diary and the depth of her chronicles shows the complicated life of a young girl that was clearly destined for life as a novelist.

Stapley published her first work when she was in high school when she wrote sports and human interest columns for her journalist father, who was then on vacation from the “Stouffville Tribune.”

In time, she would graduate with a degree in Journalism from Ryerson University. Thereafter, she got employment with a wide range of magazines and newspapers across North America, writing all manner of book reviews and features.
Similar to many of her contemporaries, Marissa Staplye is an unabashed apologist for commercial fiction and an avid reader. Many of her arguments supporting the writing of gripping sagas for its own sake have been featured in media and print interviews.
Marissa has also been a tutor of creative writing at Centennial College and the University of Toronto, where she has offered mentorships and online classes.

She currently makes her home in Toronto where she lives with Osca her precocious black cat.

Maggie Knox’s novel “The Holiday Swap” is a holiday-themed, feel-good romantic comedy in the mold of “One Day in December” by Josie Silver and Holidaze by Christina Lauren.

The work is set in the few days before Christmas and introduces two identical twins that decide to switch lives as they have a strong desire to have a different life for the Holidays.

When chef Charlie Goodwin the chef is hit on the head while filming her reality baking show in Hollywood, he loses more than her consciousness. She has also lost her ability to smell and taste which are critical to the success of her show since she is a judge.
In the meantime, Cass her identical twin is determined to keep her life together. She lives in a small hometown in the mountains where she runs the thriving bakery that has been in the family for several generations. She also has to deal with her former boyfriend that refuses to acknowledge that their relationship is over.

Days to Christmas, Charlie is desperate and asks Cass to switch places with her which is something they have not done ever since they were children. Cass could not have been happier to switch as she is looking for an escape from reality.
However, this may be more complicated than they first thought, particularly when Jake Greenman the rugged firefighter, and Miguel Rodriguez the handsome physician’s assistant join the fray.

Will their swap have the right ingredients to get the twins back on track, or is it a recipe for disaster?

They believe they can fake a romantic relationship but what the fans do not know is that Max and Sadie cannot stand each other. However, their dreams are a few inches away and they agree to what the network asks of them.
Will a trip to a remote resort result in the development of feelings or will the fake relationship be exposed prematurely?

It is a beautiful love story set during the Holidays with sweet and heartwarming chapters. It also comes with great execution of the romantic tropes of sunshine meets the grump, fake relationship, and enemies to lovers story.
There is some sizzling and palpable chemistry between Max and Sadie that makes one enjoy what is an ever-evolving relationship. But there are also heartbreaking, tear-jerking, and extremely angsty moments too.
