Jeffrey Wilson is an award-winning supernatural thriller author from Florida. Before he became a bestselling author, he worked as an actor, trauma and vascular surgeon, firefighter, naval officer, paramedic, diving instructor, and jet pilot.
He has also served many tours in Afghanistan and Iraq where he served as a combat surgeon with both a joint Special Operations Task Force and the Marines.
He published “The Traiteur’s Ring,” his debut novel in 2011, and has never looked back since. His second novel which was the 2012 published “The Donors” was the winner of the Military Writers Society of America horror/fantasy Gold Medal.
He has since penned more than ten works that have been very successful commercially. He also writes under the pen name Alex Ryan under which he has published the “Nick Foley Thriller” series.
Wilson is known to pen his many successful novels alongside his writing partner Brian Andrews. Writing as Andrews & Wilson, they have become very popular for their works.
Initially, they got into writing intending to pen works about technology & science, Covert Operations, and military characters. These remain the pillars of their brand and are a common theme in the many books Jeffrey Wilson and Brian Andrews have written.
Sometimes, the emphasis shifts heavily from series to series and book to book even though all elements are always present.
Over the years, Jeffrey Wilson has become known for penning realistic and hard-hitting action that flows and ebbs through a sometimes gut-wrenching and nail-biting plotline.
As for the writing, they have so far taken advantage of their diverse strengths to make for a smooth well oiled machine. They usually divide their chapters between themselves and write and rewrite and then edit each other’s work before publishing.
Jeffrey Wilson currently lives in Tampa, Southwest Florida alongside his wife Wendy, and their four children Connor, Ashley, Jack, and Emma. Natives of Virginia.
Despite becoming a hugely successful author, Wilson still works a day job as a Vascular Surgeon. Whenever he has the time, he also consults for the Department of Defense.
He sometimes interacts with his fans on social media profiles on Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook where he provides updates on upcoming books and bonus chapters.
“Tier One” by Jeffrey Wilson is set in a world where old lines have been blurred and everything has been violated by terror. The lead is an elite Tier One Navy Seal named John Dempsey whose life is over.
Following a devastating terrorist attack he is propelled from a world of decisive orders and moral certainty into a world where ambiguity rules the shadowy realm of espionage.
His newest mission is to hunt down and bring to justice the people that had perpetrated the biggest tragedy in US Special Ops history. But how does a man torn between revenge and duty walk the line and retain his soul?
As he walks in the world of spies, the case propels him across the globe as he finds himself in a desperate quest to prevent a horrifying imminent attack on the United States.
He once followed orders blindly but can now see behind the curtain and the biggest question is can the man who was once an elite Navy SEAL adapt to the shadowy world of espionage?
It is a well-written work with a lot of action, likable and interesting characters, and realistic scenes.
Jeffrey Wilson’s novel “War Shadows” continues to follow John Dempsey who is now tracking down a terrorist that had evaded capture more than a decade earlier.
His target is once upon-a-time Mujahideen named al-Mahajer that managed to slip away and become a high-ranking player in ISIS.
He is now back in the US with a well-planned attack and Dempsey and other operatives of the clandestine organization Ember have to prepare for what has to be one of their most difficult assignments.
The man they are chasing is a ghost but as the puzzle pieces start falling into place, it soon becomes clear that the terrorist intends to show Americans that they will not be safe inside their own borders.
Soon enough, there is a race against time to pinpoint the big cities where the terrorist intends to commit his special brand of atrocities.
For John Dempsey, there is a lot more at stake than just the lives as one of the targeted cities happens to be where his son and wife live. Will the team be able to stop the terrorist in his tracks before he attacks the city and harms the people Dempsey loves?
It is a thrilling ride that will have its readers hanging by the seat of their pants for an ending that is well worth it.
“Crusader One” by Jeffrey Wilson continues to follow the story of John Dempsey and Team Ember. They are on the trail of an operative from VEVAK who is responsible for the deaths of some of Dempsey’s most trusted soldiers.
Meanwhile, nuclear tensions have been rising between Iran and Israel following a devastating attack on Israel and the United States.
Team Ember finds itself in the middle of the eye of a storm and has been charged with stopping tensions between Iran and Israel from turning into World War 11. But to do so they will first have to capture Modiri the VEVAK operative.
The political climate and espionage in the work make for an interesting and riveting story even if it does not get bogged down in the details. Similar to all the Tier One novels, it comes with a lot of action-packed scenes with detailed and very accurate.
There are intricate descriptions of weaponry used by the Ember team coupled with other vivid descriptions of the devastation wrought by high-caliber bullets, and hardcore cinematic shootouts making for a very pleasing read.
The lead character of John Dempsey continues to develop and grow as he becomes even more vulnerable.
Nonetheless, he continues to navigate his feelings of loneliness and guilt with regard to his family in addition to a fledgling romance he has been building with Grimes.
