It is a rich and engaging story of alphas, beta, and omega set in dystopian landscapes. The story takes on a prevalent trope, but it’s not as dark as most authors present in the genre. It is not Stockholm-level oppressive or sexually violent, but it succeeds in creating an emotional and suspenseful landscape.

The first in the series is a story of King Adalai of Luxoria. He is an alpha wolf shifter king and one of the greatest to ever lived. The king is known for his brutal and lethal ruling ways, especially when it comes to protecting his kingdoms against invasion by the humans who would want his pack eliminated from the planet. Additionally, he is a king known for his strong stand toward/upholding a law that keeps the omegas in his group separated and forcibly tortured in the desert beyond his kingdom’s city center.

Then there is Zelene, a strong omega desperate to change the lives of all her omega friends. She comes up with a plan to attract a beta from the palace to help her change this societal division. But what she doesn’t know is that her plan attracts the attention of the king.

What follows next is a persistent heartwarming story of struggle, heartache, doubt, and hope. A story that is as heart-pounding as it is introspective. The first few chapters march you continuously toward a pivotal point of the story. The story brings you directly to the edge of your seat, anxiously anticipating what will happen next and when you think you’ve figured it out, the unexpected happens.

Deliciously Mated is the first book in the Ouachita Mountain Shifters series, published in 2015. As the executive chef at Lake Haven Lodge, most of Eagan Masters days are spent preparing nourishing meals for his family and the lodge’s visitors. However, he spends his evenings in his chilly and lonely shack. There is no mating between the big cats. He has embraced it, but regardless of the amount of time spent in the kitchen, nothing can prevent his heart from longing for a partner. A Mate’s Denial is the first book in Ozark Mountain Shifters. It’s proof that P. James has worked some might magic with writing. She grasped an idea and transformed it into an awesome story, a story about Kerrigan and Trager both faced with tragedy, but because they found love with each other, they are able to overcome all the obstacles in their way.

As a young boy, there was a prophecy that said Trager’s mate would reject him, and he would never have a child. This is termed as a risk to any pack, and so he was rejected and also disowned by his pack. By chance, Trager gets to learn of an imminent danger to his former pack, and some sense of loyalty to his family in the packs leads him to warn them, but they won’t listen to him unless he comes with a mate and proves to them that the prophecy was wrong.

On the other hand is Kerrigan, a woman who was once hurt by a past love and hence has no intention of opening up his heart to anyone else again. Trager isn’t part of the plan, but somehow, she cannot get him out of her head. He’s a man who makes her feel so special, something she has never felt before. When she learns about the threat to the pack and the role she has to play to save the pack, she agrees to help.

Both Trager and Kerrigan have a beautiful connection right from the start. But as their love grows, will it be strong enough to prove the prophecy wrong? Or will Kerrigan reject her mate and fulfill the prophecy?
