Jennifer M. Miller, born and raised in Chicago, and now calls Arizona home. She writes mostly contemporary romance novels that focus on romantic comedies and sports romance. She also writes literary fiction, action adventure, paranormal romance, and romantic suspense.
Occasionally her stories are for adults only with mature reader recommendations.
She started writing very early in her life, winning a writing contest at school when she was a young girl. The the star of the winning story was a girl and her spirit animal- a unicorn. Winning this first contest inspired her to want to write a book of her own.
Ms. Miller has a an assortment of standalone novels and a few individual series of stories. One of her earliest novels is Whispering Winds. This is a standalone novel and it’s recommended for adults over the age of 18.
Aspen Edwards will usually do anything for her best friend. Mischa is a free-spirit but normally has reasonably grounded ideas. But this? Aspen is cynical about this new project of hers but she promised Mischa so she has to do it. Mischa has instructed her to write down a few affirmations then she’s supposed to chant them all during the next New Moon.
Aspen made her list. The next New Moon she went out into the cool evening air, where it was quiet and calm, and first stopped to ponder the possibilities then she dutifully whispered her list to to whatever god or goddess that will fulfill her wishes. What could go wrong?
Aspen went all in with her wish list. She hit the top ones- promotion with a huge raise and then get a fancy new car with said raise. Her landlord will sell her rental house to her so she will never have to deal with the too frequent rent increases.
Her social calendar will be chock full of bright, funny people who are vying for her attention. She will try exciting new things. She will have more time to do the things she love to do but never does: reading, concerts, picnics, and movies.
She will become even closer to her BFF, Mischa. The most important wish she made is she will find the man of her dreams, her soul mate. Be careful what you wish for.
It’s as if each whispered dream sailed off and landed smack upside down in the mud. Each well-thought out dream has turned into a disaster. She gets kicked out of her house, she gets fired from her job, her car breaks down, and the one that especially hurts, Wes, the one she has a secret crush on, looks at her as a baby sister rather than the sex goddess she is yearning to be.
The Universe always has tricks up its sleeve. Aspen is sad and looking down. The Universe wants her to look up and see what it has in mind for her.
Ms. Miller has written a standalone novel for the Mason Creek romance series. Perfect Date is a short little romance story about how pretending dating can surprisingly lead to some pleasant and unexpected outcomes.
Charlotte Knight is desperate to find “the one”. She’s the newest single resident to Mason Creek and she’s given up finding love in her little town. Despairing to meet new single men, she decides to try online dating. The small-town gossip wheels will turn fast so she meets all her potential mates at the tavern in the next town over.
The handsome and incredibly sexy bartender, Justin Gray, has a bird’s-eye view of the foibles and disasters that meet her in the bar. Feeling bad for her, and admittedly attracted to her, he puts himself forward to help. He will fake date her so she can learn what a truly perfect date feels like. That’s when things start to get real, and start to get complicated.
Ms. Miller answered readers’ questions. The best thing about being a writer is is actually two things. She gets to offer her readers an escape and get to enjoy that escape as well. It helps reduce her stress and worry, boredom and fatigue.
Writer’s block, as always, is a predictable question asked of authors. Each author has her strategy and Ms. Miller’s includes M&Ms. She will walk away for awhile, bounce scenes off her fellow writers who critique each other and that helps push her past the blockage. She gets back to writing and starts popping M&Ms.
She shared how you have to chase your dreams every day and write every day. Don’t let others discourage you from your dream. With her maturity, she learned dreams will not effortlessly fall on your shoulders. She realized, dreams take a lot of work. She started chasing her dream, unafraid to pursue the biggest dreams.
Ms. Miller has done that and is now an award-winning and best-selling author. She gets to enjoy it with the full support of her family. She is a wife and mother, has an addiction to chocolate covered strawberries and handbags and sees absolutely nothing wrong with that. When she’s not writing best sellers she’s attending her daughter’s basketball games or looking for trouble with her BFF.
