Something So Sweet is the debut in the Honey Hill series. Honey Hill, a small town in North Carolina, is all about honey bees, charm, and history. Mayor Lunden Pierce is ready to do whatever it takes to keep the town’s historical landmarks and outstanding reputation.

Lunden is a single mother and a business lady. Additionally, she’s intelligent, hardworking, and smart.

She’s considered the Honey Hill’s greatest champion of the times. However, everything about her changes after her childhood lover Quade Cannon returns. Lunden and Quade have known each other since they were young and were in love until Quade left, breaking Lunden’s heart.

He vanished over 20 years ago with no trace or contact, and no one seemed to know anything about him. Ms. Shugga, his aunt, was among Lunden’s favorite people, but unfortunately, she had no answers Lunden was searching for.

Fast forward 23 years later, Ms. Shugga has passed on and left a beautiful inn. Lunden’s primary focus is to preserve the inn that is an icon to the town’s people. Ready with a portfolio of ideas, Lunden has a plan of action. Everything almost comes to an end when the surviving owner shows up with different kinds of ideas.

Quade comes back to the town to make a sale of the inn and then move on with his life. The town where Lunden is a mayor and is looked up to by all the residents. For both of them, their reunion isn’t anything they planned for, but they have no option but to deal with it.

To add more insult, she discovered that he had planned to sell the in that he inherited from his aunt. Initially, when Quade came to town, he had planned to stay for six months, which required him to receive the inheritance. The Inn is not only a historical landmark but also a favorite place for most people in the town.

Though he has great memories of the summers he spent in Honey Hill, he feels he no longer needs the inn he inherited and the honeybees in its yard. He wants to use the money he gets from selling it. Even though he has a history with Lunden, and has known each other for a long time, Quade wants to move on to his next adventure.

However, slowly he starts to like the small-town life enjoying every moment he spends in it. He didn’t try to be Zachary’s father but cared about him and wanted to be great friends and have the boy look up to him no matter if he ended up with his mother or not.

He had no desire to live in the town until he meets Zachary, who he isn’t aware is Lunden’s son. They become friends, and their relationship force Lunden to deal with Quade in more ways than she earlier thought.

Something Quade never thought of was reuniting with his teenager lover, and before he knew it, He had a bond with Zachary, which forced him to be friends with Lunden too. The three form a strong bond, and before they realize it, the two ex-lovers start having chemistry.

To Lunden, though the threat on the Honey Hill’s history means the start of a war, she’s ready to try to change Quade’s mind as she gets him in the town’s charm and the honeybee lifestyle. As Lunden and Quade do their business dealing and personal relationship, they also work through their past. As Quade falls for honey Hilltown, he also falls in love with Lunden and soon realizes the feeling is mutual.

As the summer attraction increases, Lunden has to choose to keep the town she has loved her entire life or be with the man who threatens to change it. The two have a lot to deal with as they try to build their business relationship and come to terms with their past.

It’s a fantastic story taking the reader on a ride as the two main characters work through their past and present situations. The story is fast-paced and easy to read with funny scenes, family drama, small-town gossip, and secrets.
A Bid on Forever
