Reina Torres is a historical romance, paranormal romance, romantic suspense, and inspirational author that started off as a painfully shy adult writing stories.

She was a huge reader from childhood and used to read every book she could get her hands on. She used to get out her paper and pencils and pen down all manner of scenes and stories. Whenever her mother was not working, she used to sneak in and use her typewriter, feeling like she was Jessica Fletcher.

Even though she was afraid of giving her stories to her friends to read and ended up tearing up the stories she wrote, they would provide the foundation she needed for her later career. Torres published “Home to Roost,” her debut novel in 2017 and has never looked back since, as she now has more than forty titles to her name.

When Reina is not writing her novels, she loves to do handicrafts as she has a degree in technical theater and a costume designer.She also loves to do garden and yardage work and for a while the family lived in Vegas, they were Civil War reenactors.

Torres has always been a huge fan of anything to do with the romance genre ever since she was a teenager. Back when she was in her very early teens, it was Louisa May Alcott that kept her awake at night reading under the covers with a flashlight.

She would also read the classic teenage novels from the likes of the “Hardy Boys” and “Nancy Drew.” Growing up, she would read everything she could get her hands on even though Julie Garwood was her gateway drug that resulted in a career as a romance author.

As for the genres, she loves writing and reading paranormal, contemporary, regency and western historical fiction. At times she thinks she has some kind of identity crisis as a writer and reader, even though she also reads works in other sub genres.

Still, her biggest love has always been romance whether it was handsome modern heroes, Scottish Lairds, Rough and Tumble Cowboys, Regency Gents and Medieval Knight. She always loved how wide the genre was that there was always another heroine or hero she could follow from page to page.

Reina Torres’ first experience with books and telling stories was when she would draw picture books. She used to tell the stories to her family that seemed to love both the stories and drawings. When she was older, she would type stories inspired by her love for “Nancy Drew.”

While looking back she does not think her stories were any good, she was still very excited to have put something on the page. There were several times she found a lot of joy as she engaged in creative writing in school.

Years later, she started writing Western Television fanfiction and this was the first time she had experience writing for the public. It was from this time that she got the encouragement and experience she needed to work towards writing her own fiction.

She was soon submitting short stories to anthologies and magazines under different names. She managed to get several of her stories published in Steampunk, Western, Scifi, and Weird Western genres among others.

“Rescuing Hi’ilani” by Reina Torres is the story of Jackson Guard, a man that left for the Delta Force and in the process abandoned the romance he had been cultivating with the young and beautiful Hi’ilani Ahfong.

He believed the greatest sacrifice he could ever make was joining the Delta Force until he met “Truck” and “Ghost” from a Delta Force unit in Texas. They have kids and families and seem perfectly happy and he believes he can have that too.

Ahfong has been ready to give up everything and go with Jackson wherever he would have been stationed. But he had broken off the relationship and told her things would never work. She had then refocused her energy on building her career and before long she was on track to become a very successful performing artist.

Things change when Hi’ilani stumbles onto a murder and has to flee for her life only to bump into Jackson. The killers are coming after her as they need to shut her up.

Jackson is promising to take care of her while law enforcement tracks down the killers. But she has trusted Jackson before. She has given him her soul and heart and he had crushed them leaving her bleeding.

Reina Torres’ novel “A Hero for Ku’uipo” is the story of professional hula dancer Ku’uipo Ornellas. At the opening of the story, she has just quit her job as a hospitality coordinator for one of the largest hotel chains in the world. She intends to head to Hawaii to revive a small hotel that has a history with the silver screen.

She hopes that she can give young residents at a new workplace a chance to practice their hospitality skills. But there is someone determined to ensure the hotel does not open. To achieve their objective, they are willing to take out their frustration on Ku’uipo.

Efrain Figueroa is a huge lover of tv shows and movies but after she meets Ku’uipo he finds himself drawn into her idea of getting the old hotel running once again. This is particularly so when he learns that one of his favorite actors filmed on the hotel grounds.

He is quick to jump in to help her when the more dangerous side of Hawaai threatens to destroy her dreams. The man is unable to walk away from the young and beautiful woman who brings out something in him he cannot explain.

“A Hero for Summer” by Reina Torres is the thrilling romance story of Summer Maitland and Kai. She is a forensic anthropologist who works to recover and identify the remains of MIA soldiers and POWs. Many in her family think her job is ghoulish but she doesn’t care.

Her friend Elodie arranges for her to meet Kai, a man who makes her burn with a look and moves through water like Aquaman. Kai has had his fair share of scrapes and bumps during his life as he has been brought up in Hawaii.

But he never expected to get shot at but when he is introduced to Summer Maitland he knows he will do just about anything to protect her. As a resident of Oahu, the military has become part of her life and when the Delta team stumbles on a body, she finds a huge group of protectors that will keep her safe from anything.

Summer soon finds herself the target of a serial killer and it will take the dedication of her new friends and her many talents to bring her home safely.
