Mia Pride is an American author who is best known for writing of Scottish and Irish historical romance. She is the author of the Sisters of Danu series, the Warriors of Eriu series, the Baby on Board series, and the Irvines of Drum series.
She started to write at a young age, writing stories about magical things and fantastical places as a child. During this time, she liked to live in a fiction world where the line between reality and fantasy didn’t exist. When she entered high school she continued to write and even entered into writing contests and had some of her work published. This only reinforced her love of writing and she continued to work towards her future career. She also developed a passion for history and genealogy which would serve her well in her future writing career as well.
Pride is the mother of two children as well as a variety of pets. They live in the San Francisco Bay Area and when she’s not writing, she also works as a substitute teacher at local schools. She also enjoys reading a good book, hiking with her family, and spending time with her friends. She’s also a big fan of the Renaissance Faire, especially the joust.
The Sisters of Danu series begins with Forbidden Fate. The story follows a life forgotten, a love forbidden, and a truth that resurfaces. Gwynneth awakens from an accident and loses her memory. Now, she is troubled by dreams that seem far too real to ignore. With no idea of who she used to be or where she belongs, Gwynneth finds herself left with no choice but to depend on the man that saved her, even as she is plagued by glimpses of her past. That man is Liam who was meant to marry her before her father denied his request. One night she went missing and he found her, but he never expected what he found. Now, he must continue to protect her as the enemy is still out there. As Gwynneth starts to remember things, she starts wishing she could forget them. The injury was no accident and she realizes that Liam isn’t who he says he is. She is drawn to him, but an outside danger threatens as well as the lies and deceit that could destroy them.
Foretold Fate is the second book in the Sisters of Danu series. Una loses her mother and now must rely on the protection of her foster-brother, Brocc Mac Greine. It wouldn’t be so bad if she hadn’t recently turned down his offer of marriage. Brocc had a reputation in the village and believed that a future with him could lead to heartache. He will not be denied though despite her constant rejections. He offers her protection, but the attraction he has for her is driving him mad. Things get complicated when Brocc meets two women who look just like Una. The two are in search of their missing sister and proclaim that his love for Una has been foretold by legend. He agrees to help them, but only if they allow him to earn Una’s love on his own.
The Warrior’s Salvation is the first book in the Warriors of Eriu series. Jeoffrey has seen his fair share of love and war, but now he is ready to leave both behind. He wants to start a new peaceful life where he can forget about the wounds of his past, but someone won’t heal, especially the ones caused by a red-haired lass who still haunts his dreams. That same woman ends up making her way to his village and she is beaten and holding a child. She’s the last person he wants to see right now, but he feels responsible and brings her into his home. He does keep his distance though. While her love for him is as strong as ever, but he wants none of it. As truths are revealed, the two will find that they must be the thing to save each other.
The Warriors of Eriu series continues with The Warrior’s Wager. Aislin Mac Cecht prefers the outdoors, her bow, and her freedom instead of the things that lassies are usually looking for. She believes that a marriage and children would only tie her down and that no man could accept her as she is, but she refuses to change for anyone. Alastar Mac Murray loves the lassies, but he prefers as many as possible instead of just one. That changes when he sees Aislin for the first time. The two both value their freedom over love, but they just might find happiness in each other.
Raising Grace is the first book in the Baby on Board series. Brent and Crystal dated until college, but something happened that ruined things for the both of them. With the end of the relationship, Brent lost all he ever wanted and Crystal never exactly why it all happened. Brent tried to move on by finding another woman, but when they had a daughter with an autism he was left alone to raise her. Now, he’s looking for help with his daughter and the woman who holds the key to her success is Crystal. She is assigned to work with his daughter in his home and it stirs up feelings for both of them, new ones and old ones.
The first book in the Irvines of Drum series is For Love of a Laird. Elizabeth Keith may never know true love, but she does know duty and she plans to fulfill it as she is betrothed to an elderly laird of their enemy. As tragedy strikes, and strikes again, Elizabeth is pawned from laird to laird to the point where she decides to defy the rules. Robert Irvine has his own obligations and marrying his brother’s beautiful widow is more than he bargained for. He’ll do what he can to secure his marriage and peace, but Elizabeth will do something that may ruin everything.
