Largely writing mystery thriller novels, the American author Terry Ambrose is well known for his fun and exciting novels. Filling them with suspense and adventure, he really has a gift for ensuring that the reader is kept turning each and every page. This has seen him become a hugely influential author all across the world, with readers from all over singing his many praises. Combining thrilling stories with compelling characters, he definitely knows what creates a top-shelf novel with a taut narrative.
Known for creating funny novels too, he’s not without a sense-of-humor either, making stories that entertain the readers on several different levels. This is something that has found him scores of readers from around the world, making him a household name for many. Relating the readers universally, his books have an international appeal, as they resonate regardless of where the audience are from. A major part of this is the fact that many of stories incorporate a variety of different locations into them.
Drawing from his own experiences too, Terry Ambrose brings in his own history to help inspire a lot of his material. This gives it an even greater degree of insight than it would’ve had otherwise, really taking it up a level in the process. There’s a lot within his work that feels wholly authentic and true, whether it’s his characters or the settings that he uses for his stories. With a lot more to come still, he will carry on writing for a long time yet, as there’s plenty more set for release on the horizon.
Early and Personal Life
Growing up in American with a passion for reading and writing, Terry Ambrose would show a keen interest in literature from an early age. This would be something that he’d carry throughout much of his life, on into his adult career, as he sought inspiration from the world around him. Taking his many experiences, he’d put them back into his writing, allowing them to shape much of his output from a realistic perspective.
Developing his style and his voice, he would work for some time as a skip-tracer, seeing a wide-range of people in the process. Much of this would help inform his writing, as many of the characters would help populate his different mysteries. Currently living in Southern California, he still continues writing to this very day, all the while visiting Hawaii and the Garden Island of Kauai on a regular basis.
Writing Career
It would be the novel ‘Photo Finish’ that would start the literary career of Terry Ambrose back in 2012, and this would also be the first in the ‘Trouble in Paradise’ mystery series. That same year she would also go on to bring out the novel ‘License to Lie’ just a few months later, and this would begin a series of the same name. Focusing on mystery novels, many of them falling into the cozy mystery genre, Terry Ambrose has been a prolific author over the years. Gaining a lot of recognition worldwide for his work, he’s received numerous good reviews from the critics too, as his writing continues to generate a lot of publicity.
Big Island Blues
First brought out through the ‘Satori’ publishing label, this would originally come out in 2014 on the 21st of October. It would mark the third book in the ‘Trouble in Paradise’ mystery series of novels following the character of Wilson McKenna. Each with a self-contained mystery story, they can be read in any order, although there are some characters and arcs for returning fans to enjoy too.
There’s so many engaging elements here for the reader to invest themselves in, with an engaging cast of characters. All this works to make the story fun and entertaining, as it keeps the reader continually guessing for every step of the way. Mystery fans will really enjoy it, and it’s definitely a series to follow, with it being a good casual read for anyone to enjoy.
Heading to the Big Island of Hawaii, Wilson McKenna, the former skip tracer, plans to see his friend’s niece, Andi Kapono, participate in Big Island Jazz Festival. Once he does get off the plane though, he finds that Andi is missing and that he’s now been tasked with finding her by his best friend. Not only that, but a teenage hacker now threatens to disrupt the investigation, as secrets emerge, along with a twenty-year-old plan for revenge. Can McKenna find Andi before it’s too late? What’s the truth behind the web of lies and deceit? Who will get the Big Island blues?
Secrets of The Treasure King
Once again brought out through the ‘Satori’ imprint, this was initially released in 2020 and would be the third ‘A Seaside Cove Bed and Breakfast Mystery’ series novel. Providing another self-contained mystery set in the same location as before, it brings back many of the same characters from the previous books. Developing the world and the characters further, it can be read on its own, although there is plenty for long-term fans to enjoy too.
Grabbing the reader from the outset, this novel hooks them for every step of the way, keeping them reading. It really is a fun and entertaining book that has a lot to offer, as there’s lots of surprise twists and turns leaping out from every page. This is something that works not just in this book, but the rest of the series too, as it manages to maintain its momentum throughout.
Docking at the marina in Seaside Cove, The Treasure King is helmed by a captain who lays claim to knowing the whereabouts of the San Manuel; a priceless sunken galleon from four-hundred years ago. Then the captain is dead killed by a speargun, and Rick Atwood is called in to help as owner of the local B&B, although he’s worried about his eleven year-old daughter Alex. Attempting to solve the case herself, she gains clues illegally, and now Rick must work on the investigation, all whilst keeping her out of trouble. Will he be able to find the real killer? What are the clues Alex found? Can they discover the secrets of the Treasure King?
