Early and Personal Life
The future writer to be Sarah Webb would always have a passion for both reading and writing from an early age. This would develop throughout the years, as she harness her writing skills, honing and refining them, allowing them to flourish. Always seeking new inspiration, she would continue this on into her further education, building upon it and her voice as an author.
Working as a children’s book reviewer and programmer as well, she’d gain an insight into the craft quite unlike any other. Attending Trinity College in Dublin where she studied Arts, she would work as a Children’s Buyer in the book trade for a number of years. Currently living in Dun Laoghaire, in the county of Dublin, she lives with her partner and their three children, as she continues to write to this very day.
Writing Career
Bringing out her first novel back in 2000, Sarah Webb would publish her debut title ‘Three Times a Lady,’ which was a stand-alone romance. Over the subsequent years she would publish a number of stand-alones, many of which would also be stand-alone romance novels. Then, in 2009, she would release her first ‘Ask Amy Green’ novel, which was titled ‘Boy Trouble’ and it would be a Young Adult Romance.
Later she would go on to write the series ‘Songbird Cafe Girls,’ starting with ‘Mollie Cinnamon is Not a Cupcake’ in 2015. This would be the first in a line of children’s literature, paving the way to the writer that she currently is today. Winning many awards for her work over the years, she continues to put out novels at a regular pace, with more planned on the horizon.
The Memory Box
This would be the second book in the ‘Shoestring’ series of novels, following on from the previous books with another self-contained narrative. Released in 2013 on the 17th of January, this would come out through the ‘Pan MacMillan’ publishing label to much acclaim. Continuing in much the same vein as before, it definitely delivers, plus it has plenty of twists and turns all of its own.
Capturing some very real feelings, the ideas behind this novel are strong, touching on themes of the past and regret. Creating some in-depth characters that fully resonate, this is a must for not only fans of the author, but fans of the genre in general. Taking place in Dublin, it moves between Ireland and Paris, making for an interesting set of locations bringing the story to life.
Soon to be thirty, Pandora Schuster is dealing with the fact that she is being tested for a hereditary illness, while also wanting her ex-partner to be a father to their daughter Iris. Heading off to Paris where her ex, Olivier Huppert apparently lives, he’s not even aware of his daughter and Pandora hopes to find him. Unsuccessful she returns home to her boyfriend Declan, meeting with the rest of the Shoestring Club, before creating a memory box for her daughter to remind her of her father. Will the memories from the past catch up with her though, and pull her back? Can she help her daughter remember? What will become of the memory box?
Wedding Belles
First brought out through the ‘Walker Books’ publishing imprint, this would originally come out in 2013 on the 15th of August. Marking the sixth title in the ‘Ask Amy Green’ line of Young Adult romance novels, this continues on from the previous five books. Offering its own self-contained story, it also manages to carry on many of the arcs that came from before, while being a fast and fun read. Accessible to younger readers, it features realistic people in real-life and down-to-earth situations that will resonate with the audience.
