The Elusive Wife
The Elusive Wife comes first in the Marriage Mart Mayhem series. Set in Regency England, this book introduces Jason Cavendish and Lady Olivia Grant. Jason is the Earl of Coventry, and for him to hold his title and inherit from his family, he has to marry Lady Olivia. Neither of these two is happy about this arranged marriage, but Olivia remains cool while Jason goes completely out of control. On the day of their wedding, Jason stumbles to the venue drunk, unkempt, and after a night in bed with another woman. He pays no attention to Olivia throughout the ceremony, and as soon as vows are said, he disappears, leaving the new bride behind.
Later in London, Jason and Olivia cross paths again. Olivia is staying with her friends from school, and Jason is trying to trace his unwanted bride so he can request her for an annulment. If only he could remember how she looked like. He was too drunk to remember anything from the wedding, and Jason has not set eyes on his bride again. Olivia is appalled that Jason doesn’t remember her. He is trying too hard to catch her attention, not knowing that she is the woman he is married to. Jason is fascinated by Olivia, and it is clear that he wants a relationship with her. Can Olivia hide her disappointment and see how hard Jason is willing to work to win her heart?
Well, Olivia decides not to reveal her identity to her arrogant husband. Instead, she flirts with him throughout the night only to send her bills to him in the morning. While she is furious about the way Jason acted at the start of their relationship, Olivia finds Jason irresistible. He is quite the ladies’ man, but there is something about his blue eyes and how he touches her. The romance between these two comes with a humorous twist, and the way Olivia behaves at times will leave you in stitches. There are also steamy sex scenes and enjoyable scenes that will keep you glued to the pages.
The Elusive Wife is a fast-paced historical romance story with a unique edge. It is characterized by intriguing characters, a fast pace, and a unique storyline. The Heroine, Lady Olivia, is an easy character to love, and Jason is a completely different story. Curious to see how Olivia and Jason’s complicated marriage end? Read this book to the end, and you can be sure that the journey will be well worth it. If you are looking for a funny, sometimes sad, and romantic story with a bit of adventure, this book is perfect.
An Angel in the Mail
An Angel in the Mail tells the story of Nathaniel Hale, a father desperate for a wife, and Angel, his not-so-perfect mail bride. Set in Oregon in 1861, this book exposes how life was for the men and women who lived during those times. Nathaniel is a father of five who doesn’t mind raising his kids but needs a helper. In between fulfilling his children’s needs and running his gunsmith shop, Nathaniel has his hands full. He is looking for a woman who will love his children, keep their home clean, and ensure that the family is well-fed. His desperate search for a wife leads him to Angel, a strong-minded woman who is not afraid to air her opinions.
Angel resigns to her fate as a mail bride, but she is no pushover. However, she is surprised to meet a husband who is not only kind but patient enough to teach her all the skills she lacks in maintaining a home. The only thing Angel can cook in the beginning is hot water. However, there is something about her beauty that keeps Nathaniel interested even though she knows nothing about running a home. The two come up with an arrangement that could work for their family, but it is hard maintaining peace at home with someone working to break them up. Can this odd couple overcome all that is working against them?
This is an amusing and heartwarming story set at a time when mail brides used to be the norm in the US. Told in the third person, the book concentrates on the Hale family and the events that shape their lives. Nathaniel is adorable, and while Angel comes off as a little spoilt in the beginning, her valiant spirit will win you over in no time at all. It is amazing how Nathaniel responds to Angel, and it exciting to see how their relationship grows over time. The bath scenes are fun, and Nathaniel’s five children add a lot of character to the story. Other lovable characters include Alice and Sylvia. The cast is well developed, and it is fun following them throughout the story.
An Angel in the Mail is an intriguing family story set in the 1800s. Through this story, we meet Nathaniel and his family and see how they all deal with the challenges that life throws their way. The plot is solid and mildly suspenseful, and the historical references come in just the right doses. There is a nasty surprise towards the end, but the author handled it so well. If you are looking for a fast-paced story with some element of romance and scenes that will give you a good chuckle, this book is perfect.

I read the book” Angel in the Mail” and absolutely loved it. It was the first time I read one of your books. I look forward to reading all of your books. What an amazing book that was! You are such a gifted writer! It was romantic, funny, endearing, and quite suspenseful at the end. I am so happy I found you!
Would love to see more books in the Victorian Book Club Mysteries because I prefer a good mystery rather than descriptive sex or bad language. Keep it clean!
You certainly tell a good story. Thanks!
