Candace has written the “Caruthers Sisters” books, the “Bronwyn the Witch” series, the “Holiday and Hearts” series, the “Stonegate Investigative Agency” series, and the “Ainsley McGregor” series, as well as some stand alone novels. Her work is from the young adult fantasy, romance, cozy mystery, and paranormal romance genres.
“Take Me If You Dare” is the first novel in the “Stonegate Investigative Agency” series and was released in the year 2010. For Mariska Stonegate, the beautiful man she has just met is everything that she looks for in a guy: hot, hot, and, oh yeah, Hot. Just because every pore of his body screams sex and danger does not mean she will be getting herself into that much trouble.
However, Mr. Thomas is not at all who she says he is. His real name is actually Jackson, no last names, and he is really a burned CIA agent currently on the run. He will do just about anything to survive, which includes seducing Marsika one hot and steamy night at a time.
“She Who Dares, Wins” is the second novel in the “Stonegate Investigative Agency” series and was released in the year 2011. This assignment definitely was not one that detective Katie McClure was expecting. Traveling off to London to keep an old scientist that was getting death threats safe? Much too easy.
It just happens that Dr. Macon Douglas is a hot guy. The sort that makes Katie think about her own kinds of experiments, especially ones that involve Mac naked. The death threats are entirely real. Along with the chemistry that seems to zap and sizzle when they’re with each other. Could Katie keep her professional thoughts in her mind and protect Mac? Or is she going to risk it all and dare to be bare?
“Truth and Dare” is the third novel in the “Stonegate Investigative Agency” series and was released in the year 2011. Patience McGee, a forensic anthropologist, doesn’t play games. When she makes the offers to investigate the death of businessman Cade Randall’s dad from two decades before, making Cade’s ambivalence is nothing shy of frustrating. She is going to show this extremely hot man just who he is dealing with.
Cade had made his mind up to just walk away from the case, until Patience dare him to help investigate the murder with her. While immersing themselves in the mystery, it isn’t that long before the vibe goes from civil right to sizzle. What is going to happen, however, when Patience and Cade realize that the most dangerous dare of all is actually the truth?
“A Case for the Winemaker” is the first novel in the “Ainsley McGregor” series and was released in the year 2020. The closer that she gets to the truth, the more that she lands herself into trouble.
It is an exciting time in Sweet River, Texas, and the entire town is talking. Possibly a little bit too much. Ainsely McGregor, a former English professor, has gambled all she’s got on Bless Your Art, her new business, which is an artisan market where the local artists teach classes and sell their wares.
The white and bright space is filled up to the brim with colorful yarn, art, pet treats, jewelry, antiques, and even some medieval weapons. Oh, and there’s even some wine tastings. Everything’s better with some wine. Ainsley gets surprised with how well things are going: right up until the moment that her Great Dane locates a corpse. With Ainsley’s friend being accused of this murder, it is up to her to find the real murderer.
While the list of suspects gets longer, she has her work cut out for her. The task is made a lot more difficult when the sheriff, who’s also her brother, doesn’t act like he wants her to help. If she doesn’t wrap up the case pretty quick, she might very well be the next wine, or rather one, to die.
“A Case for the Yarn Maker” is the second novel in the “Ainsley McGregor” series and was released in the year 2020. Spin a yarn, at your own risk.
Everybody at Bless Your Art in Sweet River, Texas is excited for the Yarn Goddess (that is in fact her real name) to come to town. Ainsley McGregor has set up a special event att the local community center, however, when old Mrs. Whedon does not see things the way the Goddess does about using quality yarn. A fight breaks out, as a result. Who knew this octogenarian had some ninja moves such as those.
It is all fun and games until Ainsley’s Great Dane, dubbed George Clooney, locates Ms. Yarn’s corpse in a booth at Bless Your Art. Now the prime suspect is Mrs. Whedon, and even though she isn’t the easiest woman to get along with, there isn’t any way she is the killer. Ainsley doesn’t believe so, anyway. While this yarn unravels, Ainsley and the rest of her quirky friends learn some rather interesting little tidbits about this case as well as the Goddess’ checkered past. There is still a killer on the loose, and George might just be the only thing protecting Ainsley from a certain death.
