Nancy Campbell Allen is a wonderful American writer of paranormal romance, inspirational, and historical romance stories. She has written several mind-blowing book series in her career, including the Faith of Our Fathers series, Isabelle Webb series, Time series, and the Steampunk Proper Romances series. Additionally, Allen has penned widely popular standalone novels. She has also contributed to a few novel series by other authors such as the Timeless Romance Anthology, Timeless Victorian Collection, etc. The authors with whom she has collaborated on several occasions include Sarah M Eden, Annette Lyon, G.G. Vandagriff, Michele Paige Holmes, Elizabeth Johns, Heather B, Moore, etc.

Sometimes, Allen likes to publish her books under the pen name of N.C. Allen. Her writing career is comprised of 17 novels and a few novellas so far. They encompass a range of genres from historical fiction to contemporary romantic suspense. The Faith of Our Fathers’ novels are based on the Civil War. This series has won the 2005 Utah Best of State award. Multiple books of this series have been finalists for the prestigious Whitney Award. One of her books, My Fair Gentleman, has won the award in 2017 in the romance category. The Proper Romance line of the Shadow Mountain publication has obtained the publishing rights of her recently started steampunk series. Other than writing novels, Allen likes to spend her time in attending writers’ events and conferences.

Author Allen completed her formal schooling from Weber State University with a B.S. degree in the subject of Elementary Education. After that, she worked as a freelance editor and ghostwriter for several years. Her ghostwriting contributions include Jim Whetton’s We Knew Howard Hughes and Kenneth Brailsford’s My Life Encapsulated. Allen is represented by Pamela Pho at the D4EO Literary Agency. In her spare time, she loves to travel, research, read, and spend time with her close friends and family members. Allen is blessed with 3 children and currently lives with them and her loving husband in Ogden, Utah. She is fond of dogs and has a large Siberian Husky that she has named Thor.

The Time series written by author Nancy Campbell Allen consists of 4 books released between 1999 and 2001. It contains the main characters in the form of Amber Saxton, Tyler Montgomery, Connor O’Brian, Liz Saxton, Claire O’Brian, Darren Stark, St. James, Jon Kiersey, Paige O’Brien, etc. Allen has set the books in Washington, DC, Savannah, Guatemala, and Tuscany, Italy. The debut book of this LDS contemporary series is entitled ‘Love Beyond Time’. It was released by the Covenant Communications publication in 1999. Initially, Amber Saxton is introduced as a young and bright LDS doctor hopeful of making it big in the world of 21st-century medicine. But, she collides with a swinging door that causes her life to change completely all of a sudden. When Amber wakes up, she finds herself in a different place and time.

The Civil War period baffles her and makes her wonder how can she attempt the practice modern medicine on a battlefield of the old era. Amber wishes to get out of the entrapment as soon as possible as she longs for her apartment. She also misses her Primary class very much. Every day is like a new challenge for her in the unfriendly world of the Civil War. Tyler Montgomery is shown as an overworked accountant. He spends his nights in front of his computer to prepare audits. One day, while is working to prepare an audit, he receives a blow to his head that comes as a nightmare to him. When Tyler wakes up, he also finds himself in an Army Hospital of the 19th century. He thinks that he died but did not reach heaven.

Tyler and Amber begin the adventure of their lives in a time period that they are not used to. Both of them are fraught with intrigue, danger, and unimaginable discoveries at every step. They try to find ways to return to the present and continue their normal lives. But first, Amber Saxton and Tyler Montgomery need to find one another and discover what they consider most important in their lives. They wonder if they will be able to pass the test or they will end up losing their lives before being able to unravel the past generation’s mystery. Author Allen has done an amazing job in creating this riveting story. It is filled with enough romance and adventure to keep the readers intrigued from the beginning to the end. The book receives wide appreciation from one and all. Many noted critics gave rave reviews and praised Allen’s efforts in coming up with such an original story.

The second volume of this series is called ‘No Time for Love’. It was also published by Covenant Communications Inc in 2000. This novel features the lead characters in the roles of Liz Saxton and Conner O’Brian. The novel opens by mentioning that Conner O’Brian has a realization that he did a big mistake by deciding to get engaged to his fiance. But, before he could take steps to call off his engagement, his fiancee got murdered and FBI agents came to his doorstep to question him. Later, Liz Saxton approaches Conner O’Brian. She is a self-assured and resourceful private investigator who offers to help him in finding the real killer of his fiancee. Liz has a dangerous resemblance to the lady Conner O’Brian loved and get goosebumps in realizing it. He knows that he cannot afford to indulge in a new romance at this time. Even Liz Saxton does not want to get involved with a man who is suspected to have killed his fiancee.

In spite of what any of them thinks, they find themselves teaming up and chasing clues and important pieces of evidence across oceans and continents. Liz and Conner know that they do not have much time with them. So, they try to collect the evidence to prove Conner’s innocence as soon as possible before becoming the next victim of the murderer. This novel also succeeded in receiving the love of readers all over the world. Allen was again appreciated for her work by the critics. The success of this novel motivated her to write many more books in the later years.
