Stephanie Marie Thornton
Stephanie Marie Thornton lives in Alaska with her husband and daughter in the state of Alaska and she teaches history to high school students.
Since she was twelve years old, she has been obsessed with infamous women from history.
It was not until she had her daughter that she became fully introduced to the hellion that was Alice Roosevelt. She was escorting some high school students to Washington D. C., and stumbled on the picture book “Mind Your Manners, Alice Roosevelt”. It shocked her that nobody had yet written a novel on her.
Stephanie’s debut novel, called “The Conqueror’s Wife”, was released in the year 2016. Her work is from the historical fiction genre.
“The Conqueror’s Wife” is a stand alone novel. They are the women that loved Alexander the Great. They were murderers, innocents, lovers, and soldiers. Without them, Alexander would have just been a guy. Instead he was god.
330S, BCE. Greece. Alexander, who is a handsome young warrior of Macedon, starts his quest to conquer the ancient world, however he cannot ascend to power, and keep it, without all the women to shape his destiny.
Thessalonike, his spirited younger half-sister, yearns to join with her brother and see the whole world. Instead, it’s Alexander’s boyhood companion that rides with him into war as Thessalonike stays behind. Far away, Drypetis, a crafty princess, is not going to stand idly by while Alexander topples her dad from the throne of Persia. After Alexander conquers her small kingdom, Roxana, the cunning and gorgeous daughter of a minor noble, wins the heart of Alexander. She is not going to commit any crime in order to secure her place at his side.
Within just a few short years, Alexander controls an empire vaster than the civilized world has ever known. However, his victories are tarnished by defeats on the treachery and battlefield among his inner circle. Long after Alexander is gone, the women that are his wives, champions, and enemies are going to fight in order to claim his legacy.
“Daughter of the Gods” is a stand alone novel. Egypt during the 1400s BC. The Pharaoh’s pampered Hatshepsut, the second daughter who is both intelligent and lively, delights in racing her chariot right through the marketplace and testing her archery skills in the marshlands in the Nile. The death of her older sister, Neferubity, in a very gruesome accident arising from Hatshepsut’s games requires her to confront her guilt and then sets her on a profoundly altered course.
Hatshepsut gets into a loveless marriage with Thut, her half-brother, in order to secure his claim to the Isis Throne and produce a male heir. It is another of Thut’s wives, the commoner Aset, that bears him a son, while Hatshepsut develops an attraction for his brilliant adviser Senenmut. Thut, all of a sudden, dies, and Hatshepsut becomes the de facto ruler, as regent to her two-year-old nephew.
Hatshepsut was able to anticipate being free to love and live as she decided. Now she has to put Egypt first. Ever daring, she has to lead a huge army and build some great temples. However, she is always going to be torn between her heart’s desires and the demands of leadership. Even while she makes her boldest of moves of all, her enemies are going to plot her downfall.
Stephanie brings to life a remarkable woman from the past whose willingness to defy traditions altered the course of history.
“American Princess” is a stand alone novel and was released in the year 2019. Alice is nobody’s darling despite being the president’s daughter. Oceans of them.
Alice, using the same amount of canny sophistication of the savviest politician on the Hill, uses her own celebrity to her advantage, testing the very limits of the seductive thrill of political entanglements as well as her power.
Washington, DC is filled with betrayals and heartaches, and Alice falls hard for the smooth-talking congressman it is going to take everything Alice the rebel has to emerge triumphant and claim her spot as an American icon. While Alice brazens out a feud with her famous Roosevelt cousins, and soldiers through the devastation of two world wars, it really isn’t any wonder that everybody in the capital calls her the Other Washington Monument. Alice has every intention of outlasting each and every one of them.
Alice was ahead of her time and was able to make a name for herself in her own way with actions both good and bad. She is a force of nature and delight on the page. Readers found themselves wanting to learn even more about Alice Roosevelt.
