Kaye George is a bestselling American novelist of mystery, horror, thriller, and humor novels and short stories. She has written several mind-blowing novels and series in her career, including the Detective Duckworthy PI series, Cressa Carraway Musical Mystery series, Vintage Sweets Mystery, People of the Wind Mystery series, etc. Kaye has also written the Fat Cat Mystery series under the pen name of Janet Cantrell. Additionally, she has written several novellas, short story collections, and anthologies. A couple of her books were nominated for the prestigious Agatha Award. Besides writing novels, Kaye works as a reviewer for the Suspense Magazine, where she posts reviews about the books of other authors. She also writes blogs and newsletters. Previously, Kaye has served as the president of the Sisters in Crime’s Guppies chapter after serving its treasurer for a certain period.

Before Kaye decided to try her luck in the field of writing, she worked in several other jobs. She has worked as a janitor, secretary, short-order cook, and bookkeeper. Kaye has even served as a nurse’s aid and a computer programmer. Today, her main interests include writing humor-filled mystery stories and playing the violin. Kaye has published her book series through 3 different publishers and one of them is self-published. Other than a couple of Agatha Award nominations, Kaye has achieved a finalist position for the prestigious Silver Falchion award. Currently, she resides in Knoxville, Tennessee along with her dear husband. Kaye is fond of cats and has several of them at her house. Her cats inspired her to develop some of the exciting non-human characters in her books.

Author Kaye has lived in 9 states. She is a native of California and her parents relocated to Moline in Illinois when she was just 3 months old. Following her college graduation from Northwestern University, she got married to her lover named Cliff. And as Cliff went on to join the Air Force, Kaye had to keep changing residences and live wherever Cliff was transferred. They have resided in Sumter, South Carolina; Lompoc, California, and Great Falls in Montana. It was during a cold winter in Montana that Kaye’s first child was born. Following this, Kaye moved to Dayton, Ohio and stayed there for a period of six and a half years. During this period, Kaye gave birth to two more children. After this, she lived in places like Minnetonka, Minnesota; Plano, Texas; Troy, Michigan; and Dallas, Texas. Following a 17 year stay in Dallas, the family lived in Holliday, Hubbard, and Taylor in Texas. When they arrived in Knoxville for their final trek, they decided to stay there permanently.

Whenever Kaye gets some spare time from her writing projects, she likes to spend it in the company of her grandchildren. She takes great pride in knowing that all her grandchildren are good-looking, socially well-adjusted, and intelligent, just like her own children. As of now, Kaye is represented by a literary agent named Dawn Dowddle at the Blue Ridge Literary Agency. Her first book in the Detective Duckworthy series, Choke, was the first book of her writing career to receive an Agatha nomination. The first Cressa Carraway novel, Eine Kleine Murder, became a Silver Falchion finalist. Kaye received her second Agatha nomination in the category of the Best Historical for the book called Death in the Time of Ice.

All three books in Kaye’s Fat Cat cozy mystery series have achieved bestseller status. Kaye’s recent series, Vintage Sweets Mysteries, is set in the city of Fredericksburg in Texas. Kaye’s books have received numerous starred reviews and positive comments from various critics all over the world. She felt motivated to write more after the grand success of each of her books. Kaye has expressed her gratitude to all the readers and critics for liking her novels and helping them become immensely successful. Now, she is looking forward to writing many more exciting novels in the coming years.

A well known novel series written by author Kaye George is known as the Cressa Carraway Musical Mystery series. It is comprised of two books released between 2013 and 2016. Every book in this musical mystery series features the lead character in the role of an amateur sleuth and aspiring conductor named Cressa Carraway. Other essential characters created by Kaye for this series include Gram, Maddy Streete, Daryl, and several others. Kaye has set this series in Illinois and Minnesota. The debut book of the series is entitled ‘Eine Kleine Murder’. It was released by the Barking Rain publication in 2013. The book begins by showing that aspiring conductor Cressa Carraway arrives at the cabin of her grandmother, located in a rural lake resort in Illinois to find some quiet and peace. She looks forward to completing the symphony composition that she requires to obtain her Composition degree. But, when she discovers the dead body of her grandmother floating in the lake, Cressa gets involved in finding the cause of her death.

Cressa approaches the local authorities to look into the matter and is told that her grandmother died an accidental death due to drowning. But, another person dies at the exact location, Cressa is convinced that there is a murderer hiding in plain sight in the idyllic village. Realizing that no one is going to help her in catching the culprit, she decides to take the matter into her own hands. Cressa prepares a list of possible suspects and begins investigating their activities to find the murderer. While the investigation goes on, Cressa wonders which one is going to finish first, her life or the symphony.

The next installment of the series is known as ‘Requiem in Red’. It was published in 2016 by the Barking Rain publishers. After finishing grad school, Cressa Carraway finds her dream job of being a conductor. She joins a fledging ensemble based in Minnesota that is hopeful of growing into a big orchestra. Cressa leaves behind her boyfriend Daryl, her friend Neek, and her university and sets herself on the journey of building her future. She enters into a new friendship with the group’s violinist, Maddy Streete. As Cressa begins carrying out gigs with fellow musicians, she starts more about their personal lives. Later, she comes across shocking truths about each one of them that involves drug abuse and murders and realizes that she has landed herself in deep trouble. Cressa fears that she could become a victim is she remains with the group and decides to part ways before the situation worsens.
