Cynthia Voigt is the creator and the author of the Tillerman Family series of fictional novels. The series started out for the first time in 1973, which is when the debut novel was released. Readers were able to get their hands on Homecoming and then the sequel, titled Dicey’s Song.

Homecoming is the first novel in the fictional Tillerman Family series by Cynthia Voigt. If you are looking for a great book to pick up that is going to keep you entertained and want to read more installments of a series, then check out this series for yourself! This book was made into a 1996 television movie directed by Mark Jean.

In this debut story, readers get the chance to meet the main character of James Tillerman for the first time. He looks after his sister, who is named Dicey. The first thing that he says to her every morning when they wake up is that their situation remains true. They have not managed to get out of it yet.

They are not the only ones that have been affected, however. There were four children that belonged to their family and all of them went through the same thing. Their mother chose to abandon them somewhere in the state of Connecticut without warning. She left without giving a reason why, leaving the kids to fend for themselves.

Now the four kids all have to band together and face the music. Their mother left them behind and they are going to have to stick together and figure out where they are going to go. Together, they have got to find a way to get out of this. They have decided that they are going to seek help from their Great Aunt.

Their Great Aunt Cilla resides in Bridgeport, so that is where they decided to try and get to. If they can reach her house before the authorities get to them, they may just stand a shot at being able to stay together. They always wanted to be a family, and James is going to have to make sure that all three of the siblings do not get split up.

They manage to arrive at Bridgeport together. But upon their arrival, the Tillermans learn the news that their relative has since passed away. She may be no longer living, but her home has been left behind. Eunice, her daughter, is living in the home and once they get in touch with her, they find that this is not the forever haven that they all hoped that it would be.

The siblings have no other choice but to keep on trying and do the best that they can. With James leading the way, they are on a journey that they never asked for but must follow through with to the end. The Tillerman family is only going to stay together if they make sure that it happens, but even so, all of their efforts may end up failing despite their best efforts.

The journey continues on for the siblings, but will they will be able to find a new home and stay safe in the process? As the reader goes on and gets closer to the conclusion, they may find that there are more obstacles in the way to a happy present and future than they realized. With plenty of discoveries about the future as well as the past to be made, check out what happens in this story by picking up a copy of Homecoming for yourself!

Dicey’s Song is the second novel in the Tillerman Family fictional series of novels by Cynthia Voigt. If you loved the charming introduction of four siblings that are willing to stick together no matter what, then check out the sweet second installment (one of six) of this family-friendly series!

This is a classic series that focuses on four exceptional children that have found themselves in a horrible predicament. In the first story, readers found out that their mom had actually been the one to put them in this situation. Now James and his other siblings were faced with the prospect of pulling themselves out of it and surviving.

The small orphaned family did their best in their abandoned state. It seemed that there was a light at the end of the tunnel shining when they were going to find their great aunt, but that ended in nothing but disappointment. Now they have a new option and they hope that it can work.

The kids have found a home with their biological grandmother. It turns out that she was willing to let the kids stay with them. They hope that this will be a bright new beginning for all of them, but Dicey is far too used to taking care of everyone to stop now.

The Tillermans and Dicey in particular find this place is going to need love and humor as well as courage to make it a home. Could it finally be a haven for them, a refuge in the world? Pick up this sequel and get Dicey’s Song to find out what happens to these brave kids in the end!

Ok Cynthia, I’m a 73 year old cranky old guy but I loved the Tillerman series up until book 7. It may just be that the depressing times we’ve lived in the last two years have impacted my frame of mind but I was expecting a much happier ending for Dicey and the family. I wanted Cisco to show up with 10 grand for Dicey that he had won in Atlantic City – she ends up married with a shop building boats, Sammy goes to tennis academy and ends up with an athletic scholarship and Maybeth gets the special help she needs and marries Phil.
