Aaron Patterson is a bestselling American author of young adult fantasy books. Homeschooled, he spent his childhood in the west. This tale follows two distinct plotlines. They alternate between present day Boise, Idaho and 1250 B.C. Arabia. The main character in this story is a young girl named Airel. There’s nothing superhuman about her; in fact, she’s your typical teenage girl. She is bright, loves reading books and she could with ease score straight A’s in her studies if she wanted to, but instead, she prefers to remain under the radar. While she might not be the most beautiful girl in her school, she’s definitely not the ugliest especially with her brown eyes, petite frame, and long dark hair. Popularity is the last thing on her mind because she gets the attention she gets both from her parents and her best friend, Kim. She is perfectly happy with her life, though it mundane but her idyllic life is soon bound to change.

On her way to school one morning, Airel decides to grab some coconut latte from her favorite coffee shop but little did she know that she would meet the most handsome man ever. Their attraction is instant, and Airel can’t help but fall in love with this cute stranger. The handsome stranger turns out to be her new classmate who just moved to the town, and for some reasons, he seems “connected” with Airel.

In addition to the two plotlines and the brilliant characterization, the two settings are vivid, and the story itself is narrated in such a way that it absorbs you within the emotions and feelings being played out.
