Jo Walton is a Welsh-Canadian author. She is the author of the Small Change series as well as a few other series and several full length novels, short novellas, and collections.

Jo was born in Aberdore, Wales, on December 1, 1964. While she originally hails from Wales, she currently resides in Montreal. She moved from Swansea to Canada in 2002 and is married with a son.

Jo has fulfilled her childhood dreams of what she would like to do when she became an adult. She eats a ton of great food, reads quite a bit, and writes sci-fi and fantasy based novels for a living. She is a successful author that first came into print with her fictional novel, the debut of her original Tir Tanagiri series.

Walton has been the recipient of multiple awards; she has received the World Fantasy Award, John W. Campbell Award, Hugo Award and the Nebula Award (these last two both for her book Among Others).

Jo Walton is the creator and the author of the Tir Tanagiri fictional series of novels. The debut novel in the series was The King’s Peace, which was released in 2000. The sequel would become available to readers just a year later and is titled The King’s Name. In 2002, the third book in the series came out and made it officially a trilogy.

The King’s Peace is the first novel in the Tir Tanagiri series. If you are looking for a great new fantasy book to read, then this is definitely a book you should check out!

In this debut story, readers get the chance to meet the main character of Sulien ap Gwien for the first time. She was just seventeen years old the first time that the Jarnish raiders arrived. She would have been better off if she had been blessed with the good fortune to have weapons on her when they first discovered her.

If she had been armed, Sulien would have been able to take all of them on and win hands down. Nothing and no one would have been able to defeat her. However, she was not armed. She’s still proud of the fact that it took six raiders to finally best her. As it were, Sulien will never forget what happened and forgiveness for what they did is not in the cards.

This is the story of a journey for Sulien that will take her many places. It will take her to reunite with her family once more. Her family has old ties to a once powerful Vincan empire. The empire previous ruled in the place known as Tir Tanagari.

The adventure will also take her to the place known as Caer Tanaga. There King Urdo is known as one of the greatest men in his time. He is doing what he can to try and get the princes and the fighting nobles to voluntarily merge into a clear united force. Only by accomplishing this will the king be able to finally have the power and the strength to get the barbarian invaders to evacuate the lands. By doing this, he will finally be able to restore peace to the people and the land.

In the end, it is Sulien and the king that will both be changed by each other. Sulien is able to see with great clarity that the king is the country’s current greatest hope for peace. King Urdo is also able to view Sulien with clear eyes, seeing that she is truly a great warrior in her own right, and perhaps the supreme warrior alive today.

The two of them will unite and form a strong team. The pair will be able to fight to preserve an entire age and protect the things that the world requires but never truly are able to last. Peace is not something that can always be in place, but you can fight for the ability to bring it into a tangible form for a time at least.

This epic fantasy novel is the tale of heroic deeds and brave people, and integrates a bit of magic and the regular everyday world along the way. Can Sulien join up with the king and can they accomplish their goals together? You’re going to have to read the first novel in this series to find out!

The King’s Name is the second novel in Jo Walton’s Tir Tanagiri series of fiction. If you enjoyed the debut novel, then be sure to check out this exciting sequel to find out what happens next! Don’t forget to check out the third book in this fantasy trilogy to round out an engaging and imaginative three part series.

Sulien the warrior returns in another exciting book from this fantasy author. She has pledged her allegiance to the honorable King Urdo, who has become her lord. Their loyalty to the land and their bravery and strength have now paid off in spades. After a long struggle, they were able to finally unite Tir Tanagiri and its people at last.

The invaders have been driven out and this is now a safe kingdom where justice can prevail. All of the citizens understand the code of law they are to follow, and what was an uncertain present can now forget a path toward what is to be a more reliable and safe future.

Some of the people in the land are excited, looking forward to a future and newly filled with hope and optimism. Others are not as enthused over the present state of things, believing that they are picking up on what could be a burgeoning new era of tyrannical rule.

While this is not necessarily true, one fire has been put out and it’s clearly time to put out another one. The land and kingdom soon come under the threat of fighting each other. Can Sulien prevent a civil war? Is she capable of arming herself and taking on people that she knows well?

This warrior is trying to believe in the dream that the king had to unite the land. It’s getting more difficult to believe that it’s possible. Can peace be achieved? Read this book to find out for yourself!
