Detective Apfel, whom Maggie has nicknamed Detective Awful, keeps a check on Maggie’s every move. He seems to be a rather obnoxious and suspicious police investigator. Maggie McDonald knows she has to outmanoeuver him in order to track down the killer before she ends up becoming a victim herself. This book appears to have been well written and filled with intriguing twists and turns. The plot flows very well and keeps the readers entertained till the end.

Another exciting book of the series is called ‘Dead Storage’. It was also published by Lyrical Underground in 2017. This novel is set in Texas and features Jason, Maggie McDonald, and Stephan in primary roles. At the beginning of the story of the book, it is depicted that Maggie McDonald has her hands full with her organizing business, but still agrees to help her friends, Stephan and Jason, unclutter the large Victorian house for the scheduled renovation. Before she could begin her work, Jason goes on a business trip to Texas in an emergency and Stephan gets imprisoned on the charges of murder.

A local Chinese restaurant owner was murdered by someone and his dead body was stored in the freezer. When the police arrive at the scene, they find Stephan standing there with his hands covered in the owner’s blood. He is seen as the prime suspects and is taken in for questioning. Maggie McDonald believes her friend is innocent. So, she decides to take it upon herself to carry out a detailed investigation and find out the real murderer. As the killer becomes aware of her activities and keeps a track of everything she does, Maggie has very less time left to prove Stephan’s innocence. She knows she could become a target of the killer because of her involvement in the case, but puts all her fears aside and continues to look for clues. Her search for the real killer takes her to strange places. Finally, Maggie McDonald succeeds in getting the killer caught by the police. She saves one more of her clients and prevents her business from turning into a failure.
