This set also helped to set the tone for a lot of her work to come, allowing her to establish a new and relevant voice.
At the current time she has created a number of ongoing series and franchises over the course of her entire writing career. Mystery Man
Initially published in 2011 on the 12th of July, this was the novel that was to start Kristen Ashley’s ‘Dream Man’ series, a new collection of books that she was to bring out. With over four books in the series so far overall, it was to prove popular with audiences with its winning combination of suspense and romance. Creating fast, vibrant and fun characters Ashley remembers that the key ingredient to good fiction is relatable people reacting to situations in believable ways, however out of the ordinary their surroundings may otherwise be.
Gwendolyn Kidd is a young urban woman who is out one night drinking a succession of cosmopolitans when she meets someone she feels to be the man of her dreams. After going home with him they spend the night together at hers, leaving her to wake up finding herself alone, with him disappeared completely. Later he turns up again though night after night, as they continually spend the night together like before, only for him to leave mysteriously as she came. That’s when her troublesome sister turns up informing her that she’s soon to be dead if she can’t get her act together as she’s got into some trouble. Attempting to help her, Gwen enlists the help of her mysterious man, Hawk, as he turns out to be quite a tough-talker when she actually gets to know him. This is what they need though when facing the Denver underground bikers, leading to Hawk wanting to take things seriously, whilst Gwen isn’t too sure as they find themselves thrust into a variety of dangerous action scenarios. Will Gwen and Hawk ever be able to be together, or will his hardened street-tough lifestyle prove to be too much for her city girl ways? Can they survive the criminal element of Denver and get the sister out of trouble? What will become of them all as they come to learn more of the mystery man?
The Gamble
Setting up the ‘Colorado Mountain’ series, this helped establish a new line of novels for Kristen Ashley when she first published it in 2011 on the 18th of April. Creating a new path it takes a somewhat different direction to what she’s done before. Building a new premise, she works well at establishing a new set of characters and rules for the stories.
Here she introduces Nina Sheridan, a woman unsure of the man she is to marry with his lack of interest in her and life, as she takes some time away in the Colorado Mountains. That’s when she runs into a snowstorm and the ideal man of her dreams; Max. At first though she is reluctant and fights her feelings, but then a murder takes place in the local town of Gnaw Bone. Everyone has motive to kill him, as he was detested, so Max and Nina must find out who and she decides whether or not to take the gamble.
