Cassandra Clare is an American author of fiction. She was born in 1973. She is well known for being the author of the Mortal Instruments series, which have been adapted into full length feature films in Hollywood.

She was born to parents that were American in Teheran, Iran. Throughout much of her childhood, she spent that time travelling all over the world along with her family. By the time she was only a toddler, she had already accomplished a trek through the Himalayas, living for a month in the backpack on her father’s back.

She has resided in places such as Switzerland, England, and France all by the time she had yet to turn ten years of age. Her family has moved around a lot. Cassandra found a place of familiarity in reading books and ever since then had a book under her arm wherever she went.

Once she went to college, she moved out to live in Los Angeles as well as New York. There she worked for various magazines specializing in entertainment. She even worked for some tabloids where she would report on such things as the travels of Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie around the world or what malfunctions Britney Spears was currently having in her wardrobe as well as bits about other celebrities.

Her young adult novel was started in 2004 when she started writing the novel based on the urban landscape of Manhattan. New York was her favorite city, and lots of her writing was inspired by that. The book did well and she went to writing fantasy fiction as her full time occupation in 2006.

Cassandra Clare is the writer of the Magisterium series. The series is co-authored along with writer Holly Black. It officially started off when the first book in the fictional series was released. It is titled The Iron Trial and it came out in 2012. The sequel is titled The Copper Gauntlet and it came out in 2015. The third book in the series is titled The Bronze Key, and the fourth and the fifth books in the series are titled The Silver Mask and The Golden Tower.
