The American author and journalist Peter Blauner has been writing for a number of years now to much acclaim worldwide. Not only that, but he’s also a highly regarded television producer as well, with a number of credits currently under his belt. Largely focused on mystery novels, he is a prize-winning novelist with a gift for both suspense and tension fueled narratives. With a keen visual style he manages to draw the reader in, making them feel that they are also a part of the action and narrative themselves.

Early and Personal Life

Born in 1959 on the 29th of October, the novelist to be Peter Blauner was born and raised in America. Growing up he always had a strong passion for the written word, being a voracious reader and writer throughout his childhood. Starting out in journalism, he’d harbor his love of storytelling throughout his upbringing and his education, before finally making it as a full-time novelist.

Attending Wesleyan University he soon graduated before going on to focus on journalism, a career which gave him a great degree of insight. Working as an assistant Pete Hamill, he soon went on to report for the Newark State Ledger, based in New Jersey, along with the Connecticut based Norwich Bulletin. Constantly honing and refining throughout, he would build upon his knowledge base, as he crafted his skills and understanding.

It was during his time reporting though that he would gain a lot of his material to write with, especially during the late eighties and nineties. Working as a volunteer probation officer during the height of the crack epidemic in 1988 would lead to him writing his first novel ‘Slow Motion Riot’. This dedication to research would serve him well throughout the following years, as he would always get the inside knowledge on whatever he was writing about.

Still writing to this very day Peter Blauner has come to be regarded as one of the foremost writers currently working within his field to date. Seen by other writers such as Stephen King as an exemplary artist within his trade, he writes with a sense of accuracy and realism unlike any other. This is something that’s expected to continue for some time to come, as his writing career continues on into the foreseeable future.

Writing Career

Making his debut onto the scene back in 1991, the author to be Peter Blauner made his mark upon the literary scene with the title ‘Slow Motion Riot’. It was a stand-alone title not being part of a series, but it also helped establish his name as a writer of thriller and suspense novels. With its gritty and realistic tone, it didn’t shy away from more taboo subject matter, something which his many readers would also come to appreciate him for in the years to follow.

Largely his stories are stand-alone titles, with him contributing to some series over the years as well, such as the long-running ‘Hard Case Crime’ franchise. Known for his gritty style and sense of realism, he’d focus himself on the pulp-novel tradition, making it his own in the process.

With a lot more to come yet, Peter Blauner’s writing career still carries on strong to this day, as he shows no signs of stopping anytime soon. Along with his background in television too, he’s one of the most prolific practitioners of his craft as well, with a number of works still set to be produced. As his career grows from strength-to-strength he’s getting more and more readers everyday, with scores of fans worldwide discovering his work, something that will continue for some time yet.

The ‘Hard Case Crime’ franchise has proven to be a highly popular one over the years, with a number of different writers contributing to it. Working as a quality pulp-novel it really understands the genre and has fun with it, providing the readers with what they’re looking for.

Living in Atlantic City where he was born and raised this is is a bit more difficult than her initially expected though, having grown up surrounded by mobsters. Undeterred though, Anthony Russo is intent on breaking away, even if it means someone else’s murder before his own. Will he ever get to go legit into the world of law? Is the world of law just as corrupt as the crime-world? What will become of him and the casino moon?

Man of the Hour

First published in 1999 this was initially brought out through the ‘Warner Books’ publishing label in New York. Working as a stand-alone crime fiction novel it manages to hit all the right beats that make such a genre based title. For those looking for Peter Blauner at his best they wont be disappointed either, as it manages to give the audience what they want, whilst providing some surprises along the way too.

Rescuing children from a bomb infused school-bus, high-school history teacher David really is seen as a hero by all. This perception soon shifts though, as he subsequently gets blamed for the planting of it, as he is then placed under suspicion. It is then up to him to clear his name and find out who the real culprit is before it’s too late, something which will prove to be somewhat of a challenge. Will he clear his name?
